Let Cal Know you support UAFA
Please let Cal know that you support the Uniting American Families Act (UAFA) and that you want him to say as much on his LGBT equality section of his website. UAFA is legislation that would give binational gay couples the same right to be together that straight couples have.
Go here and leave a comment on his wall asking him to include UAFA on his website (I posted this on my facebook & a few people have already started to do this): http://www.facebook.com/calfornc
And I think this will be an easy sell because...
- Cal already has an Equality/Civil Right section on his website
- Cal already supports UAFA as he said on a Pam's House Blend liveblog: "I believe we must address UAFA as part of comprehensive immigration reform"
I believe they worked up their Equality section before Cal had the chance to do the liveblog on Pam's House Blend and get deeper into LGBT specific issues. And I know the campaign has been crazy since then, especially with the runoff. But it is important that Cal stand up on this issue. Cal & company clearly care about reaching out to LGBT voters, they have people posting letters here on BlueNC, in the Lexington Dispatch, they participated on a PHB liveblog, they have some LGBT issues on their website, and they have reached out to some LGBT leaders in the state.
Cal, putting this one line on your website will do more to show me, and I imagine many other LGBT voters in the state, that you still have our concerns on your mind than any supporter letter will do, and it will help educate more people about the inequality that UAFA seeks to address. Please add a line about your already stated support of UAFA to the equality section before the runoff election date.

Small Steps
My Don't Ask Don't Tell question was included in the recent televised debate, along with the polling information I included to show that repeal has support, for all who were watching to see.
My next step is to get Cal's website to mention his stance on UAFA. There doesn't have to be a lot of fanfare about it, but seeing it up there is my next little concrete step that I can take towards seeing the world to be a little closer to what I know it can be.
I plan on mentioning this every day until Cal wins the general election, or loses an election, or puts the sentence up there. And I'm nothing if not persistent. ;)
Ask Cal to support UAFA
on his campaign website. You can post a facebook message like I mentioned before, or send an e-mail by clicking here: http://action.calfornc.com/signUp.jsp?key=1394
I just sent in a message that way, and I hope you will too.
We are the only lobby for this issue. And having his pro-UAFA stance on his website will go a long ways towards raising the awareness of the issues which is a necessary step in seeing it come to fruition. Thanks!
As promised, I'm going to keep asking that Cal's campaign do this everyday until Cal wins the general election, or loses an election, or puts the sentence up there.
Will Cal share his UAFA stance?
I don't know if this little online campaign to bring attention to it will work, but thanks to those who have been posting on his facebook and sending messages.
I saw a few more people who posted here http://www.facebook.com/calfornc to ask Cal to share his UAFA stance. I don't know those people are from BlueNC or not (or maybe from Orange Politics, or Pams House Blend, or just saw it on facebook), but thanks. And keep it up!
DADT Repeal
Glad to see the Cunningham Campaign using their listserve to raise this issue.
I hope they will use their website for UAFA too... it too needs awareness raised.
Not long left
here's hoping
Election day, no UAFA yet
but depending on how tomorrow goes, I may have the chance to keep pushing for this to make it to the website for a long time.
Its already on Elaines, and Cal supports it. I'd just trust a campaign promise more than makes its way to the website, and there is the need to raise the awareness of this issue too.
I figured now that it was after midnight, I'll do this post for election day to get it out of the way.
on the off chance
On the off chance Cunningham wins the primary, he'll move to the Right before you can say "Murphy to Manteo."
If you want to see Democratic values on Cunningham's website you best take a screen-grab now, because it's not gonna get any better than this.
Here's hoping we stick with the winner. I'll predict Elaine gets over 56%.

I hope you're wrong
but just in case:
Got it for both of them, with the mouse over the time thing so the date would pop up for the screenie. I'll hold them both to it.
