Live Blog with Kenneth Lewis, Candidate for U.S. Senate
Submitted by Betsy Muse on Thu, 09/17/2009 - 7:58pmWelcome Kenneth Lewis
Kenneth Lewis is one of two declared candidates running for U.S. Senate against Richard Burr. Lewis is running to ensure that the “arc of progress” that took his family from slavery to a Duke/Harvard education and a successful law practice is available now and for future generations. He said he has the background, the experience and the insights gained from each to represent North Carolina and to lead in the Senate.
His family story is a significant factor in Lewis’s decision to run for the Senate.

Miller for hanging in there with us.Long-time friend to BlueNC, Congressman Brad Miller is tentatively scheduled to live blog with us Sunday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. This chat is scheduled to discuss the Helping Families Save Their Homes Act of 2009 or H.R. 1106.
Please join us on Sunday to ask your questions of Congressman Miller. This is a very special treat, especially since the Congressman is still working to ease the bill through the House and Senate with the homeowner protections in place.

Welcome Mary Fant Donnan, Candidate for N.C. Commissioner of Labor
Submitted by Betsy Muse on Tue, 06/17/2008 - 8:34amPlease join us tonight, June 18 at 7:00 p.m. for a one hour live-blog chat with Mary Fant Donnan. Mary won the primary election, however did not break the 40% threshold to prevent a runoff.
Mary joined us last week for our monthly Democratic Women's meeting here in Union County. We had an opportunity to hear Mary speak about her priorities and her passion for the work she will do as Labor Commissioner. I'm so happy I had a chance to listen to Mary and hear what she had to say outside the normal 3-5 minutes most candidates have at forums featuring a large number of speakers. She was gracious enough to agree to stop by to visit with us prior to the convention and the June 24 runoff election.
