As in Ed Meese? That name used to but a shiver down my spine, but I must admit that now that we have Cheney et. al., Ed Meese does nothing for me in the shiver department. I suppose reality actually is subjective after all.

Just as I was getting ready to climb back in my sister's car, I heard some clopping behind me. After I snapped the pic, I said, "Howzit goin'?" He didn't stop walking, but he glanced at me for a second then flipped his ears back and forth a couple of times, which I'm assuming is moose for, "I'm okay I guess. Tired, but I've had worse days. Thanks for asking." :)

Those are the Olympics, by the way.

Well, ok, wait until the weekend, but it will be more crowded this time of year. It is a wonderful place to camp, hike, whitewater raft, and for the few crazies among us, jump off of a high bridge. I can't believe they've targeted this one. These people have to be stopped. Raping the land, they are.

have white-water rafted the Gauley several times and have been pushing me to go with them. But I'm a cheap bastid', and the last trip (hotel, rafting, gas, etc.) would have gotten up close to $200 for one day's fun. ;/

I don't even want to tell my niece about this coal mining thing right now, because it looks like she's probably going to deploy to Iraq (Air Force PA) very soon and start patching up bomb victims, which kind of has her (and us) freaked out a little bit. She runs the Gauley 2-3 times a year to let off steam, and I know it will be on a short list of things she'll look forward to doing when her tour is up.
