Seriously, I almost feel bad for him after that smackdown.

Our Burrden

Sixteen more months before we have a real senator and the lawn mower industry gets Burrdened

And here I thought...

Texas was going to take the cake for the dumbest elected politician of the week...that was a major mistake there Mr Burr.

Ouch

That one definately left a mark

North Carolina. Turning the South Blue!

Burr needs a new spokesbot

preferably one who has taken English 101.

How did Burr make it to the Senate anyway?

Did he have any political positions before elected? I still haven't found what he said he would do when elected.

Burr, YOU GOT SERVED!

He should have just let this one go. Rachel has a huge audience and can pound this guy everyday if she wants to. He isn't all that bright! He really needs better advisor.

I wonder who wrote that

I wonder who wrote that e-mail and if they still have a job today.

There are people in every time and every land who want to stop history in its tracks. They fear the future, mistrust the present, and invoke the security of the comfortable past which, in fact, never existed. - Robert F. Kennedy

I wonder if Senator Burr

seeks out moments of air time on national TV to pander to what he perceives to be his base. I wonder if he is less concerned with what is actually *said* during that air time, and more concerned with just being on.

My cynic sensor was pegged watching the TV exploits and comments of former Ill. Gov. Rod Blagojevich. Given that his goal was to get as much money as possible, as quickly as possible, I would have to say that the path he has chosen appears to be highly successful, albeit neither moral or ethical.

Great Point.

But I don't think Burr is that smart. I really don't.

Timeline

Which Friday in October 2008 did Burr meet Paulson and make the call. Was it the 3rd when Congress OK'd a bailout or October 10th when Paulson knew it wasn't working and put together another plan over the weekend for an emergency bank meeting on Monday October 13th? http://is.gd/sXTy

He doesn't remember.

Burr's told so many versions of his story, I'm beginning to doubt it even happened. Could the tale be nothing more than a self-inflicted wound ... started by Burr himself to burnish his image as a concerned official?

Your link has a great piece of documentation, Greg. Thanks for posting it.

What I'd like to know is whether Paulson personally told Burr anything ... or whether this is an embellishment on a fantasy.
