Mel Watt challenged by Tea Partier

Mark Binker does the necessary:

Gillenwater was a Tea Party organizer and helped organize a “tax day” last year and helped with a couple of rallies elsewhere.

Gillenwater says the United States is "moving in the direction of socialism." I asked him to talk about that assertion: “We’re getting too much government involvement in people’s personal lives, too much bureaucracy, too many agencies being created. They’re getting too much control of our money…This is crazy. We need to restructure our tax system. The IRS needs to be eliminated because to me they’re nothing but a punitive arm the government anyway.”

Whirlwind of irony, mixed with hypocrisy

From the candidate's website:

he has also worked for the state’s transportation department as a federally-certified bridge inspector.

Yet he rails against government involvement in people's lives. I wonder what's so great about the DOT, but so bad about the rest of the govt?

Binker notes that the candidate currently works for utility company - the very definition of a monopoly in our current republic.

This guy's every breath is hypocrisy.

Stunning.

Irony, hypocrisy and errors galore

Note to Doc: If you're going to rail about outlawing Spanish, you might want to learn to use spell-check in your own native language:

I believe in the Constitution as written and amended should be adhered to – to the letter. It clearly defines in plain english the role of government to protect our rights to Life, Liberty, Property and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Last time I looked, "English" was a proper noun, whereas "life, liberty, property, pursuit and happiness" were not. Is this the kind of quality control we can expect from you in Congress? Not very reassuring.

PS I'll be happy to edit your website. I found seven other errors. My rate is $450 an hour.

Not enough false free marketeering!

I'll happily edit the website.

James obviously does not share the candidates true belief in monopolies in free markets.

I will swear to uphold PSNC's monopoly and help you bill a bill mandating correctly spelt websuites.

I propose our services be regulated by the NC Utilities Commission and we rail against govt intervention.

My rate is $750 an hour, but I'm a true believer like Sarah Palin. So I get to charge more.

PS. This post was read from my hand.

The free market is failing us again!

The rate for website editing has gone up like 66% in less than an hour...

A Tea partier in the 12th Congressional District

is a big yawn. Can we get a well funded tea partier to run against a Republican incumbent in a reasonably competitive district? That could be very productive.

Could a tea person be persuaded to run as an independent in the 5th? One who could siphon enough votes from Foxx to help put Kennedy over the top? Surely this should be encouraged.

There is one I think

As much as she [Foxx] has tried to curry favor with the teabaggers, they have run from her embrace and, in fact, a lifelong Republican teabagger, Brad Smith-- a self-proclaimed devotee of Glenn Beck's-- is running as a third party candidate. If he can draw 10% of the Republican faithful away from the controversial Foxx, Kennedy will probably win. Remember, polls are showing that 3-way races could prove deadly to Republican incumbents like Foxx.

He's gathering registered voter signatures so he can run as an Independent. It's a tough slog but you can help him if you live in the 5th district.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Progressives are the true conservatives.

CALLING ALL FIFTH DISTRICT VOTERS

Please follow the link and help Smith get on the ballot. I'm assuming this is a top priority for the Kennedy campaign ... if it's not, it should be.

He should run as a write-in

It only takes 250 signatures to get your write-ins counted. A lot easier than trying to get the signatures for an independent campaign.
