More astroturf activism from the Puppetmaster

Training for a career in rabble-rousing:

The John W. Pope Civitas Institute along with American Majority are pleased to announce an Activist Training coming to North Carolina this weekend. The training will be conducted on Saturday, September 18 in Wilmington, NC to provide citizens with the tools necessary to become effective activists.

American Majority "Mechanic" Jessica Wood has been harping about this over at ConservativeNC for weeks, so methinks the time is right for a little "instruction" of our own.

Civitas is right at home pairing with AM, another faux grassroots group funded via the conservative corporate money-launderers:

Ryun estimates that "above 75 percent" of American Majority's funding comes from the Sam Adams Alliance, a conservative think tank in Chicago. In return for their tax-exempt status, American Majority and the Sam Adams Alliance are required to make their income tax returns available to the public.

American Majority is so new that its first tax return is not available online. In its 2007 tax return, the last one available online, the Sam Adams Alliance declined to reveal names of its donors, saying that "such disclosure may chill the donors' First Amendment right to associate in private with the organization."

Angle, the Democratic Party activist, said he believes the Sam Adams Alliance and its financial support of American Majority is a way for corporations to stay in the shadows and pour money into conservative causes that benefit them.

For those who haven't studied the origins of the Tea Party movement, the Sam Adams Alliance is the founding (astroturf) father of such. But the faithful don't like to talk about SAA because the corporate funding was exposed. But there's always a new front group waiting in the wings to funnel the cash.

How can this possibly be true?

Civitas is a reputable, independent, non-partisan think tank full of all knowing "experts." Mr. Pope wouldn't allow them to get involved in political activism.
