Mother may I?
Bob Geary gets to the point in this commentary today at Indy Week.
So thank you, Rep. Bill Faison, for supplying me with something simple and quick to say. Which is, if you want to run for governor in a Democratic primary against Bev Perdue, by all means, jump right in. Faison vs. Perdue? Seems like you'd get hammered — you're going to run against her from the right? — but you never know.
But you sound a little silly telling the governor she should step aside so you can take her place.
Bev Perdue isn't going to step aside for anyone.

100 women candidates
That's what I'd like to see. With 10,000 men standing right behind them.
Do good. Be nice. Have fun.
A Primary would be healthy
I think only having Republicans to "deal with" is pushing Governor Perdue past center and to the right, and that's exactly the wrong direction NC needs to go.
That being said, I'm not sure where Rep. Faison would fall on the left/right spectrum if he won said Primary, and I'm still waiting for some guidance on the pollution thing.
What spectrum? Faison is dead center for himself
He is my Rep -- I lost Verla Insko for that opportunist when District 50 was created. Faison is first and foremost for whatever furthers his ambitions, and he will do whatever it takes to get there. Joe Lieberman comes to mind...

I will actively oppose Faison in a primary
Few things would get me more energized in the primary season. Is Perdue perfect, hardly, but I will not have a governor, a democrat at that, who cavalierly voted to allow tobacco to ruin thousands of lives.
