Mr. Hairdresser Goes to Raleigh

I wonder what Puppetmaster Pope thinks of his latest creation doing fancy footwork in Raleigh these days:

A BILL FROM THE HAIRDRESSER

Joe "the Puppet" Boylan

A bill to clarify (and rinse!) a law that everybody besides me already understands.

Read the Hairdresser's work in all its gory details. It looks like he's fighting hard to sharpen his "fight them over here so we can deport them over there right after they pick our tobacco" credentials.

Notwithstanding any other provision of law, an individual who is unlawfully present in the United States shall not be eligible on the basis of residency within North Carolina to receive the State resident community college tuition rate."

Well, he's sticking to his promises

For better or worse, he's addressing the issues he promised he would.

On the campaign trail, he was pretty clear he felt involuntary annexation, Democrats, and illegal immigrants are the only problems NC is facing. :-)

Does he know

about that immigrant-loving bunch out of Charlotte that's helping illegals get credit cards? Wonder if he'll try to shut this group down.

From today's WSJ:

LOS ANGELES -- In the latest sign of the U.S. banking industry's aggressive pursuit of the Hispanic market, Bank of America Corp. has quietly begun offering credit cards to customers without Social Security numbers -- typically illegal immigrants.

In recent years, banks across the country have begun offering checking accounts and, in some cases, mortgages to the nation's fast-growing ranks of undocumented immigrants, most of whom are Hispanic. But these immigrants generally haven't been able to get major credit cards, making it hard for them to develop a credit history and expand their purchasing power.

This change makes no legal sense:

Also, a nonresident of the United States who has resided in North Carolina for a 12-month qualifying period and has filed an immigrant petition with the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service shall be considered a State resident for community college tuition purposes.purposes, provided the immigrant is lawfully in the United States.

A person in this case who has filed an immigrant petition would generally be a legal non-immigrant lawfully in the United States pending approval of an immigrant petition and technically not an immigrant lawfully in the Unites States. Other scenarios could include asylum-seekers and participants in an amnesty program. Asylum-seekers may apply for asylum even if they have expired visas or entered the US illegally.

This change makes no legal sense:

I think that comment would apply to the Hairdresser's entire clarify-and-rinse bill.

Which means this really comes down to...

hate speech.

Jesus Swept ticked me off. Too short. I loved the characters and then POOF it was over.

He really is just going down his list of promises

He's getting all sorts of credit from his constituents on it. He is against involuntary annexation (which on the surface sounds like a good thing, but when it's explored in depth is not.) He is against illegal immigrants. ::shrug:: He's delivering what he promised. I just don't think that most of the folks that voted for him understand the consequences of what carrying out those promises mean.

Mat Moriarty at the Pilot wrote another glowing article

about Boylan today.

State House Rep. Joe Boylan has introduced legislation that would make Moore County its own judicial district.

The bill, one of several filed by Boylan in his first few days in office, would give the county its own District Court. Moore County is currently in a district with Montgomery and Randolph counties.

House Bill 163, Divide District Court District 19B. It has been referred to the committee on appropriations. Is this good or bad for the people of Moore county?
