If you woke up this morning wishing there were a better way to discover North Carolina blogs, today is your lucky day! It's my pleasure to introduce the NC Blog Index—a dynamic, community-driven database of information about the blogs and bloggers that call our fair state home. Though the Blog Index is hosted here at BlueNC, it's not about politics. Blogs from all across the political spectrum and from all areas of interest will be listed. If you're a blogger, you should include your blog right now! Then spread the word! Here's what you need to know:
For the Sophisticated Blogger
For the Discriminating Reader
You control how your blog is listed, and you can revisit and edit your listing at any time. Listing your blog requires a free'n'easy BlueNC account, which means that only you have the login info required to update your blog info. Come back whenever you want to add or remove a tag, change a feed URL, or edit the description. It's really your listing, after all.
Describe your blog with tags. When you create your listing (and when you edit it later), you can assign tags that will help others find your blog and give them an idea of what it's about. Assign as many tags as necessary to describe your blog, and if the tags you need aren't offered, just contact Lance at BlueNC and I'll add the ones you need.
Easily add the NC blogs you like to your blogroll. For each tag, you can export an HTML list of the blogs that use that tag. Copy and paste that HTML into your own blog template and voila! You've got a list of on-topic NC blogs.
Find the blogs you're looking for quickly and easily. The Blog Index is more than just a list of websites. Because it's organized by tags, you can quickly narrow down your search to a list of blogs on a topic you care about.
Get involved, stay involved. For each and every category, you'll find an "export ompl" link that produces a list of the blogs in that category pre-formatted for adding to your feed reader. Once you click that link, you're just a step away from keeping tabs on the blogs that matter to you!
Add your comments to the NC Blog Index. Do you know a noteworthy blog? Leave your own testimonial to let other Blog Index users know what you have to say.
