NC GOP tipping the scales of justice

Apparently some deserve less justice than others:

The cuts have forced Legal Aid of North Carolina to close four offices and lay off 60 attorneys. Public defenders also saw significant cuts this year. The CEO of the group North Carolina Advocates for Justice, Dick Taylor, says the situation will have a severe impact on citizens' access to legal representation.

Every single practicing attorney who voted for this (that means you too, Skipper) should have to volunteer 300 hours of pro-bono work to make up for this travesty.

This violates the Constitution

Someone please explain to me how this is NOT a clear violation of the right to representation and a speedy trial?

The more I read about the impact of the budget cuts, the more I want to throw them all out for not making wealthy people and corporations pay their fair share of taxes. We would not be in this mess if those idiots acknowledged that a budget consists of TWO sides -- expenditures and REVENUES.
