NCDP Chair and the Charlotte Convention
Thanks for all the good wishes. And now we need to prepare for the National Convention. I have posted a short video on the www.ncdp.org website encouraging folks to go through their precincts.
On top of that, the District Chairs have at my request formulated a point system for volunteers to get our best Democrats the best volunteer assignments possible. There will be more to come and a lot of tweaking, but it looks very promising.
Personnel interviews are going on. There are NO LOCKS for any of the jobs, although a lot of the staff folks will be staying. We are trying to raise the money to expand, and am getting great help and suggestions from the GA and Council of State.
Many thanks to all the BlueNC crew that voted for me -- and thanks, too, for those that engaged in the discussion -- I have certainly learned a lot and am putting as many of the ideas I heard from you, either directly or via questions, into place to make our Party stronger.
Expect "punches" from me -- this week has had a lot of distractions from that task, but the GOP is giving us a great deal to jab at so far.

Thanks for the update, David
And you're right, there's a lot to punch at.
I'll second that.
Keep up the punches (especially on Voter ID, so few people vote already, we shouldn't discourage more legitimate voters if we're to take the General Assembly in 2012), and keep up the posting, both here and on Pam's House Blend.
Thank you
You're off to a great start! You've engaged more with progressives here in one week than your predecessor did in an entire year. As you continue to build your army for action, there are many here who will eagerly move to the front lines, including me.
Do good. Be nice. Have fun.
Get Thee to Thy Precinct
Thank you, David, for putting such an emphasis on precincts and county parties.
Precinct meetings are coming up between the end of this month and early March. Officers will be elected, volunteers recruited, the groundwork for the GOTV strategy laid out, resolutions introduced, and delegates to county and district conventions chosen.
It is critical that every one of us engage at the precinct and county level -- that's where the voters are! One-on-one contact with the voters in your community will be the best way to overcome the money disadvantage when millions of dollars from conservative front groups come pouring into NC thanks to Citizen United.
There's nothing more grassroots than the precinct!
Resistance is Fertile
district vs county chairs
I would think county chairs would have a better feel of who the active volunteers are. How would someone in Union Co. know who is active in Gaston Co.?
Momentum
In Caldwell County, we are strongly encouraging those who are excited about the convention to attend their precinct meetings. We hope to use this energy and excitement for serious party-building this year and next.
So far so good!
