Congratulations to the new frontpage team ... you are seriously kicking butt. Readership was up significantly last week, with more than 4700 unique visitors reported by Google Analytics. Very cool to be closing in on 5K again.
Question for everyone
Wikipedia is going dark on Wednesday to protest efforts by corporations to take control of the internet. Should we shut down BlueNC for the day?
Help us think this through.

Go dark for the day in solidarity with Wiki and WITH a protest message explaining why and how to contact the NC co-sponsors of this legislation.

I do not follow how going dark is supposed to affect
the folks who are sponsoring the legislation in question. Seems like censoring yourself to protest potential censoring is more like capitulation. I do like the idea of having contact info posted for NC sponsors of the bill.
Other possiblilities include a BlueNC petition, easy click messages to elected officials and a "pick the anticensorship protest song" thread with embedded videos.

and you've expressed it perfectly. I woke up wondering if there's an effective role we can play ... and I'm not sure going dark is it. Will be looking to see what others are planning for tomorrow. If anyone has examples, let me know.

The power in it
is when people go to their favorite website, one they do not even realize how much they depend on, and it is blacked out, they will realize its importance and take steps to defend something they value so much.
It made me annoyed to see this techie sight with ways to get around the Wikipedia blackout like its just some roadkill to avoid.
