I know who it ISN'T.

No second term for Doris Weaver. She's the poster child for infighting. Wasn't she the candidate pushing unity back when she ran against Karlsson? I've heard the rumors and received the emails from this Chairperson and she has proven herself incompetent by mishandling the job. Her last quarterly finance report showed Weaver's administration nearly 40% BELOW in fundraising compared to Karlsson's and Freeman's administrations. WTF?

Fundraising

I look forward to hearing of your contribution to the Valentine Fundraiser. Also, I would like to invite you to join the Valentine Fundraising Team. Phonebanking will begin in a week.

Also, come to the next CEC meeting. You will be given the financial update at that time. Last year's VDF (28th) was $50 shy of what was collected for the previous year.

WCDP Board Positions Open

Doris Weaver, the current chair of the Wake County Democratic Party, has announced that she will step down in April as did Blaise Strenn, the current 1st Vice Chair. The 3rd vice chair, Conen Morgan, and the Treasurer, Chris Lizak plan to run for re-election. The Secretary has stepped down (Anna Worley is now Judge Worley) and her interim replacement is slated to be elected at a January CEC meeting. I have not confirmed status on the other positions yet (2nd Vice, Raleigh Vice, Cary Vice, Wake County Vice), but hey, I just got back to making the rounds....

Absolutely a great idea.

Running for 2nd Vice Chair

Dear Ed & All,

I plan to run for WCDP 2nd Vice Chair.

I have not heard anything regarding 1st Vice Chair, Parlimentarian, Raleigh VC, and Wake VC.

All other positions have individuals who hope to return.... 3rd Vice Chair, Treasurer, Cary Vice Chair, incoming Secretary (Aida Doss Havel is hoping to replace Anna Worley on Thursday at the CEC).

Peace,

Joanne

Qualifications

Joanne,

What are the duties for the WCDP 2nd vice chair and what are your qualifications for the position?

Qualifications Response

1. Event Planning
2. Candidate/Precinct Officer Training.

To address #1. I am current Program Chair of the DWWC since May 2007. I also served as Food Chair for the WCDP Valentine Fundraiser (26th & 27th). I served as Chair for the VF (28th & 29th). I have also coordinate joint club events for Kay Hagan, Council of State candidates, and Judicial Candidates. I have and would reach out to other in order to make all events inclusive and dynamic.

To address #2. I have worked on many campaigns (some successful - some not). I have learned a great deal from the process. In addition to personal experience, I believe there are numerous people and resources that could be brought into the process.

I hope to meet you Thursday at the CEC. I know you blog on both BlueNC & CaryPolitics. Feel free to email me at wcdpvalentine@gmail.com so I can learn who you are....

Peace,

JC

wrong.

The carypolitcs Wuptdo is not this Bluenc Wuptido. Easy mistake to make. Might have to change my handle now even tho I spell it correctly and Wup is missing a vowel.

Don't believe the 29th VF has happened yet so you must be workin on that now. How did the 28th VF do? How much money did you raise? How was attendance? I didn't get last year's invite and I'm a party contributor.

You worked on campaigns for Jack Nichols, Chris Mintz and Paul Andersen but everyone of them lost their races. String of bad luck? Which campaigns did you work on where the candidate was elected?

Still thinkin' about it...

A number of folks have approached me about serving as WCDP Chair. While I am honored by their confidence, other potential candidates for the job, some arguably more qualified than I, may also be interested. I am still sorting out the options to serve my party and my community.

Regardless, I will be doing something for the Democratic Party over the next year - my favorite title is "Democratic Party Activist".

if not chair

Ed, would you consider running for any other board position if not chair? Tho you'd be an excellent chair plus its about time the county party had officers from all parts of the county not just Raleigh. Decide soon so I can support you.

who are the other potential candidates beside you and Jack Nichols?

Chris, I have unpublished your comment

I asked you in a private email to keep this away from BlueNC and you chose to go against my instruction. One more and you will be blocked.

Thank you.

Betsy

Vote Democratic, the ass you save may be your own.

Will you remove other comments made about people on here?

To be fair - if you are going to remove comments that I make on here about others, you should in all fairness remove comments made by Wup about myself and others if you are not going to let us respond to set the record straight!

Jack Nichols

Is Jack the only candidate seeking the county chair position in Wake County? Who else is running. I attended the precinct organization meeting this week and see the county convention is on April 178th.

How do we decide who to vote for before the convention?
