N&O spins up a Billy Graham Jr. blessing for Sarah Palin

Today the News & Observer says Palin gets [Billy] Graham [Jr.'s} blessing and Baptist Planet responds:

The N&O spin was drummed up out of son Franklin Graham’s statement to The Charlotte Observer that his father has “followed her career and likes her strong stand on faith. Daddy feels God was using her to wake America up.”

Which seems too circumspect by far to be called a “blessing” from the Billy Graham Jr. we’ve all heard shake the foundations from pulpits around the world.

Franklin's wishful thinking, driven perhaps by his investment in flying Sarah in to meet his dad and in making those videos of her Billy Graham Evangelistic Association has been rolling out, one by one?

My mother, bless her soul, was a devoted follower of Billy Graham, Sr. Even she would see through the abomination that is Sarah Palin.

With this blathering, Graham is narrowing the appeal of evangelical Christianity to people who love both Jesus and profligates.

Too bad Rob didn't ask me for a quote. I would have said Franklin Graham is a liar. If the Reverend Billy Graham believes Sarah Palin is here to wake up America, it's because she's scaring the hell out of everyone.

I may be picky but the 90 year old world respected minister is Billy Graham jr. His nearly 60 year old son who is more contraversial is Billy Graham III. Andy yes Billy Graham, IV has began a ministry also.
