No wonder Rand resigned UPDATE

For a fine, upstanding public servant, Mr. Rand sure spends a lot of time doing business with crooks. If your stomach can stand it, WRAL has the story. Here's the letter accusing Rand of insider trading.

In case it's not already clear, the NC Democratic Party leadership has a mountain of a mess on its hands, especially in the Senate, where Rand's particular brand of arrogance appears to be business as usual.

I wonder if Mike Easley will be looking for a new bunk mate.

Directors' Compensation at LEA

Directors serve until the next annual meeting of stockholders or until their successors are elected and qualified. Officers serve at the discretion of the Board of Directors. Directors are paid an annual director’s fee of $4,000. No meeting fees or committee membership fees are paid. Non-employee directors are also entitled to reimbursement for reasonable expenses incurred in attending any such meetings.

If you read the letter in my post, it looks like they want board members who will go along with whatever. No mention of this little dust up in their most recent quarterly report other than to whine about sales sucking because:

. . . resolving certain legal and administrative matters that slowed our progress and hindered our financial results during the third quarter."

Not only should it reduce financial strain, thus temptation, it will allow "regular people" to run for office. I am so sick of all these crooks and sell-outs!
