Oh, please!

And I thought my representative, Little Patty McHenry, was an idiot! (Well, he is, but at least he isn't claiming the government is out to bump off seniors, for petesake!)

All this bluster and fear-mongering is a bit much, really, since it's unlikely that any healthcare legislation that actually manages to squeeze through the Blue Dog/bipartisan/Baucus filters will make any measurable difference in the long run or do more than concretize the collective power of the health insurance industry and ensure their profits for years to come. I'm sure they'll pass something, and I don't have any doubt it'll be trotted out as a major victory in healthcare reform. But anything short of a single payer system is really only more of the same.

Oh, please! - Brad Miller

I guess I must be blessed to have Brad Miller as my representative. He doesn't always support my view, but he seems honest, thoughtful, and intelligent. He's not a twit like Fox, You have my sympathies.

Brad has not signed on to the Progressive threat letter, which now seems to have garnered some 57 signatures of representatives who claim they'll vote down the health care reform bill if it lacks a credible, strong public option.

A hard call to make, walking away from a bad deal that could still do some good, but I believe the correct one. I don't want to end up with a bill that forces me to buy a shoddy product from the insurance mafia at whatever they decide to charge.

Still, if they can not cap the pay out and they can't turn away anyone due to a preexisting condition, I can see the lure.

It would be nice to hear Brad's point of view on this issue.
