OLF on the ropes

Dome reports today that North Carolina Congressmen Walter Jones and GK Butterfield are sponsoring an amendment to forbid the US Navy to pursue an outlying landing field in the two NC locations they're stalking these days. Here's the story.

The only people I can see being upset by this are people in Virginia and Rick Martinez. Self-styled uber-patriots like Martinez are certain they know best what everyone else should do.

Sadly, North Carolina has fundamentally changed since 1941. Back then, support for our troops was inherent, even if it meant personal sacrifice. Today, support beyond wearing a ribbon or lapel pin seems to be based on a cost/benefit analysis.

I suppose now Martinez will accuse Congressman Jones of being a pansy pacifist.
