I wonder how much G. Kennedy Thompson got in severance for driving Wachovia into the toilet over the past year. Who knows, maybe he'll go to work on McCoal's gubernatorial campaign as a fundraiser! Heh.
Gotta love those free markets.

Here's another jewel gleaned from the Tavern.
Tip of the hat to barkeep Radiogirl. If you read nothing else, always check in at Isaac Hunter's Tavern. Laura knows what's going on, and serves it up with just the right flavor.
This is a wonderful look at campaign songs and how silly candidates are with them, by Ted Anthony of the AP. He points out that candidates often don't listen to all of the lyrics, or quite get the meaning of the songs they use as campaign songs.
So - can you pick new campaign songs for our candidates? For Obama, I was thinking Take the Power Back by Rage Against the Machine, but no. The words don't cut it for a presidential campaign. ::sigh:: But the chorus sure packs power. For Hillary Clinton, I honestly can't come up with anything other than Journey's Don't Stop Believing, and I think that's what Gore used, isn't it? For McCain, heh. How about the Voyage of the Sloop John B?

Puppets and planning
If the world listened to the Puppets at the John Locke Foundation, who abhor transit planning in every form, a whole bunch of people would be really screwed right now.
