Our gun-happy General Assembly

Instead of jobs, we get dangerous toys:

The state House voted 77-41 Tuesday to allow people to carry concealed weapons in public parks and greenways across North Carolina and in restaurants where alcohol is served.

Other proposals include House Bill 227, which loosens restrictions on buying handguns in other states; House Bill 63, which allows employees to lock guns inside their cars at work; and House Bill 390, which would do away with the requirement for a local permit to purchase a pistol.

And coming soon: HB 357, titled "A Bill To Restore The Practice Of Dueling To Settle Disputes".

A somewhat amusing observation: On the same page as this article is an ad for the Shanahan Law Group, with the statement "Don't bring a knife to a gunfight", with the silhouette of a dude wearing a cowboy hat looking out the window at a city skyline.

The sad part is, that ad probably works great.

Wild West GOP gun freaks?

No doubt those 77 Republicans have never heard of basic Constitutional private property rights in a Saloon! Let's hope Wyatt Earp is station in every Saloon with the right to shoot the first Republican who does not check his gun in at the door.....
