President Obama Should Follow His Own Advice

Remember during your wonderfully powerful Inauguration speech when you said "we will extend our hand, but only if you first unclinch your fist?" That was my favorite part of that entire day. Finally, a smart, demanding Democrat who seizes leadership and wants to move forward. And we admire you for trying, but...

Well, House Republicans have most certainly not unclinched their first. So, please, do not reach out your hand again until they do so. They selfish, backwards policies got us into this mess. They lost this last election handily because of their vile and irresponsible handling of our nation's economy. Their policies don't work, so you may be much better of heading down this road without them. Reform and strenghten this bill in the Senate. Rebuild our nation. There are a lot of hands out there which need to be reached... beyond the still partisan Beltway.

Extend it one more time, to the Senate.

THEN, when Senate Republicans vote en masse against it go on prime-time television and spell it out.

This is 5 minutes long, but you know that The West Wing explains all. Errrr....this ends too soon. Right after the end of this, the Republicans leave Bartlett waiting on the couch. So, eventually they all get up and walk out. Showing that Bartlett was willing, but that Republicans weren't. American viewers got it and loved it, so will American voters.

Jesus Swept ticked me off. Too short. I loved the characters and then POOF it was over.
