RCCC attacking Brad Miller already

Taking advantage of high gas prices to mislead voters via robocalls:

“Hello. I’m calling from the Republican Congressional Campaign Committee. Feeling the pain at the pump every time you fill up your tank? Well you should know that your congressman Brad Miller is supporting policies that could raise gas prices even more. Miller is still detached from the realities of all families in North Carolina forced to pay more than $3.50 a gallon.

If Congressional Republicans had half the intelligence and one tenth the integrity of Representative Miller, this recession wouldn't have happened in the first place.

And here's a little taste of that intelligence:

According to opensecrets.org, the oil and gas industry has given$238.7 million in federal campaign contributions in the last 20 years. Seventy-five percent of that was to Republicans.

The truth is that we have two percent of the world’s oil reserves and we’re using a quarter of the world’s oil supply. We have proven reserves of 22.3 billion barrels of oil. We are consuming 6.0 billion barrels a year.

We’ve known for more than a generation that there would eventually be hell to pay for our dependence on foreign oil. But instead of investing in research on alternative sources of energy and energy efficient technologies, Republicans in Congress have made oil company profits their first priority.

It may be my over-active imagination, but the timing of this robocall could have more to do with the upcoming redistricting than the 2012 Election. Maybe to justify/soften the blow of a concerted effort to demographically remove Brad from office. Either way, we can't afford to lose this one, folks.

It's a little early for me to start asking for donations, but we need to give Rep. Miller the tools necessary to combat this stuff.

Miller in Bank and Republican Crosshairs

Expect Brad Miller to enjoy the same treatment in 2012 as was meted out to Grayson and Fiengold in 2010. Additionally, the NC Republicans are going to totally rearrange District 13, just in case Brad escapes the election intact should redistricting not take effect in 2012 elections. He is gonna need an immense amount of support in 2011 and 2012.

We gotta keep Brad as he is the only voice of sanity I hear against the banks. For instance he has backed them into a corner on 2nd mortgages. The banking industry is largely bankrupt, or insolvent, due to the immense number of at-risk and non-performing 2nds the banks hold, none of them marked up to current market (at which time they would have to announce their insolvency). So the 2nds, and much of the first mortgages are "marked to pretend" and amount to massive amounts of equity in banks now are touted as good, although they are technically insolvent if marked to market.

That is why they want to kill off Brad Miller, primarily.

That makes sense

He's been hammering at the banks steadily about their home foreclosure policies and procedures as well.

Sticking up for the little guy against the big guy, especially in DC, is a recipe for a big-money backlash.
