Renee Ellmers: Pants on Fire

Be forewarned that the lie density of this email from U.S. Rep. Renee "Pants on Fire" Ellmers is so high that it can induce severe nausea.

Virtually every item she includes in her propaganda piece is a nauseating lie, or at least (charitably) a disingenuous casting of aspersions on others for things that are her fault (also known as a lie).

Let's hope she challenges Tillis in the GOP primary for the US Senate race. Neither is fit to hold office, and both have no regard for truth or ethics. It would be a blast to watch them fight it out using their sleazy tactics.

Ellmers. Pants. Ablaze.

Ellmers

What a vile creature. So sad to start my day reading such grand delusions, distributed and paid for using our money. There ought to be a law against people like her.

Sorry Thurman...

...it's our shared real-life nightmare.

Besides being a tea party drone, she has no clue what constituent service is about. She's a self-serving political hack.

I got gerrymandered out of

I got gerrymandered out of the second, and into David Price's district. While I am glad to have DP representing me, I hate it that I and my neighbors can't make a difference. I'm now in a district so packed with Democrats that my vote isn't needed. You two are packed into a district that is now so Republican that your votes don't do any good.

I'm a moderate Democrat.

Bingo

I used to have the privilege of having David Price represent me. I'm ashamed to say that I took it for granted.

Now I have the shame of having Renee Ellmers ignore me except when she tells some poor intern to send me an email that is a pack of lies and begins -- this is true -- "Dear Friend".

I thought of something that could make Renee worthwhile: she could grow out her hair, have it cut and donate it to one of those places that makes wigs for cancer patients. Or volunteer at a soup kitchen. Or adopt a dog from a shelter that's full.

But it still wouldn't cancel out the harm she's done. And I'm sure that she's a true Christian, other than that 9th Commandment thing.

She's a Habitual Liar

After she and her tea party cronies sabotaged the farm bill, she released this statement that attempts to blame "Nancy Pelosi and her Democratic colleagues".

Ellmers is delusional and/or a lying liar who lies whenever she is awake.

What a waste of protoplasm.

Ellmers' votes in Congress: Abortion and Farm/SNAP bill

Recent US House Votes--from Congress.org

Abortion Ban – Passage - Vote Passed (228-196, 10 Not Voting)

The House detoured briefly from debating the farm bill to pass a measure that forbids abortions performed at 20 weeks after fertilization or later. The bill makes an exception for cases where the woman’s life is in danger or where rape or incest has been reported to authorities. Under the measure, physicians who violate the ban would face a maximum five-year prison sentence, fines or both.

Six Republicans voted against the legislation, while six Democrats voted in favor. The justification for the 20-week limit was the belief that an unborn fetus can feel pain by 20 weeks of pregnancy. Although the medical veracity of this theory is debated, a handful of states have passed laws with the same benchmark. The White House issued a veto threat on the bill, and Democrats who control the Senate are expected to ignore the measure.

Rep. Renee Ellmers voted YES

Farm Bill – Passage - Vote Failed (195-234, 6 Not Voting)

After working through more than 100 amendments, the House nevertheless rejected a five-year, $939 billion reauthorization of agricultural and nutrition programs. Sixty-two Republicans rebelled against their leaders and voted against the bill. All but two dozen Democrats voted no as well. Nutritional aid to the poor was the major point of conflict for the bill’s passage for both sides of the aisle.

Although the bill cuts $33 billion from current law, the chamber’s most conservative Republican members argued spending reductions did not go far enough. Democrats, however, claimed that the bill’s $20.5 billion in cuts to the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) – made mainly by changing eligibility requirements – would disproportionately harm low-income families.

Democrats also objected to a provision that mandated work requirements for SNAP recipients. Like the Senate bill, the measure would have ended direct payments to farmers, replacing them with revenue protections that would assist farmers when county revenue levels fall 15 percent to 25 percent below a five-year benchmark. It also consolidated several rural conservation programs. With the bill’s defeat, the House now will have to draft a new bill, adopt the one the Senate passed earlier this month, or pass another one-year extension like Congress had to do last year.

Ellmers - a couple of reminders

As a gentle reminder, Ellmers is the one who pushed the idea of naming the Raleigh post office after Jesse Helms.

"This bill will ensure that the work he accomplished for the people of North Carolina will live on and invite future generations to learn about the important work he accomplished for our state and I am proud to sponsor it here in the House of Representatives."

And there's this:

A self-declared “product of the tea party,” she ran on anti-health care and anti-Stimulus platform: she compared President Obama to “Louis XIV, the Sun King” and asserted that his administration is establishing “a socialistic form of government.” She blasted Democrats for their “imperial ruling class attitude,” and referred to the Stimulus Plan as “massive government takeovers of the economy.”

Ellmers believes that Obama put the country at risk because he supposedly refuses “to recognize – and tell the American people – [that] he understands radical Islamic terrorism does exist.” She then launched an ugly and bigoted campaign ad equating all Muslims with the 9/11 terrorists, and arguing that the Islamic Community Center in Lower Manhattan is a “Victory Mosque” and a symbol of Muslim conquest.

Another NC politician that could keep a team of clinical psychologists busy for a few years.

She got elected riding the

She got elected riding the tea party wave but once she got to Washington she voted and aligned herself with the Republican Party establishment. She has really pissed off a lot of the teapublicans but probably placed herself in a position, especially given the makeup of the district that she can't be unseated. The teapublicans can't mount a strong enough ($$$$) effort to knock her off in the primary, and the Democrats have been drawn out to the extent that what was once a fairly conservative tossup district is not a chance district now. She is really out of her depth but despite that she seems bulletproof.

I'm a moderate Democrat.

She is One of the Top Six...

...targeted for "primarying", as they call it (what a horrible word!).

Whether or not her core values (if she actually has any) are more "establishment" or more "tea party", in either case, she doesn't have the integrity to stick to whatever her core values might be.

I repeat: a waste of protoplasm. And one of many people I wonder how they can possibly look themselves in the mirror and/or sleep at night.

I think she is really just

I think she is really just clueless. I don't think she even realized when she angled over to the party establishment that she was abandoning the people that got her elected. I think it was a total shock to her. She just doesn't know what she is doing.

I'm a moderate Democrat.

Ideally David Lewis will

Ideally David Lewis will decide to challenge her in the primary and a dark horse beats both of them. That would get Lewis out of Raleigh, giving the Democrats a chance to win the seat, and put a weaker candidate in the general for the 2nd District with a slim chance of knocking them off in 2014 and if not they fall on their face and we have a chance in 2016. (just thinking out loud)

I'm a moderate Democrat.

Primary them to death

... all of them.

I Agree in Spirit...

...but the crowd who wants to "primary" them wants to do so because they're not (hold on to your hat) conservative enough!

It's hard to imagine someone worse than Ellmers, but I suspect such people actually do exist.

I know

but I'm also saying we should do the same to the Dems. Most of them aren't nearly liberal enough for me.

Eventually conservatives will find the singularity at the core of their belief system. They'll vaporize themselves inside a vortex of their own stupidity.
