Rich Progressives Withhold Cash:
I am very curious to know what people here think about this. Essentially, a group of 27 very wealthy campaign donors have gone on strike and are vowing to withhold campaign cash from mostly Democratic lawmakers who stand in the way of legislation (FENA) that would allow for public funding of congressional campaigns. This is a few weeks old, so apologies if it's been posted:

Fat cats having a temper tantrum...
...but I hope they don't get over it. I'm a Republican, and I hate what the Fat Cat Party is doing to America. When Democrats feud it is good news for America.

I think it's a good thing when people with money and influence
band together to try to cause our elected representatives to do something that would be good for our nation.
PS: It's not a revelation that you're a Republican.

Now this is just commercial banks - you can visit http://www.followthemoney.org/database/IndustryTotals.phtml and submit any query you want. While some industries swing based on who is likely to be in power, corporate fat cats still disproportionately give to the GOP even when GOP prospects for electoral victory are on the decline.

I hope they stick to their guns.
We need campaign finance reform now. We also need to shorten the election cycle and institute term limits....or severely limit Congressional retirement pay so they're not incentivized to stay.
