And make asses out of themselves in the process:

Nice try, but it ain't gonna work, pal. I understand you myopic mental midgets have a lot of trouble with "big picture" thinking, but the cookies didn't materialize in a vacuum. They are symbolic of Republicans' disregard for the rights and opinions of women, and no amount of joking will make that symbol less repulsive. Here's more feeble attempts at humor:

Pete's having a lot of fun with this today, posting dozens of cookie-related Tweets. And I'm sure he'll devote at least an hour to yuk-yukking about women and cookies on the radio. I guess even idiots need some sort of entertainment.
Readers should take a special note of this one:

Really? I guess the Libertarian Party's concern for individual rights doesn't apply to women, and their opposition to top-down government bullying is nothing more than a sham.

A little Legislative input on the subject, from Jerry Tillman's office. Two jackasses for the price of one.

Right, because the quality of the cookies is the important aspect. Idiot.
Just to be clear, your efforts to rationalize and minimize this incident reveal more than just your lack of sympathy for the rights of women. They also reveal your fear that this could represent a tipping point. The cookie that broke the elephant's back, as it were. This is one symbol that will not go away, and will become more tasteless to the voting public the nearer we get to the election.
