RJA Update and Video
The Racial Justice Act passed the House Judiciary Committee this morning by a vote of 6 to 5. No word yet on progress in the Senate. In the meantime, for your viewing pleasure, a video in support of the RJA featuring NC death row exoneree Edward Chapman.

Excellent video
How anyone can support the death penalty know that stuff like this happens is beyond me. It seems racist to the core.
Do good. Be nice. Have fun.
Wrongful Convictions
I can think of three people off-hand that I know personally who were convicted of crimes they did not / could not commit. As long as money, politics, and ones minority status (whether race, sexual orientation, or religion, et al) has an influence on a jury and/or verdict I can never believe that the judicial system has any authority sentencing anyone to death. 15 years in prison is hard to make up for, death is impossible.
And thank you deathwatch for the video.
