Last year our event was well attended, including visits from many candidates for state and local offices. If there's interest in doing it again, I'm happy to host. But it would be helpful if a small group of people were willing to form a task force to manage things.

Just stake your claim. That's what we did last time and everything worked out juuuuust fine.
I think the person James gets to do the Que brings some tea, so sodas are great. It's probably easier to ice cans down in a cooler so we don't have to mess with clean ice and cups, so if you have a great big cooler that would help too. I have two and will bring them.

I offer my house as a venue because it's logistically easy. If someone else has a great location that's free with plenty of parking, folding tables, etc., that would be fine with me too. :)
I can't remember all the details, but I think we charged $10 per person last year and had Bullock's Barbecue (food and iced tea). I'm not sure where the beer came from.
It seemed to work pretty well. Plus there's a grill for people wanting veggie burgers.
Somebody suggested making this a Forum topic, which probably seems like a good idea. I'll open one.

If a BlueNC Blogger Bash II there be, then me again you will surely see! ... As you will note, campaigning incessantly and ferociously around the State causes one to respond in a manner that Dr. Seuss would appreciate, even months after the last ballot was cast. :)
Seriously, though, assuming that family and Department duties oblige me the pleasure of attending and participating again, I look forward to another gathering. ... And with this being a non-election year, "BNCBB The Sequel" would be a great opportunity for last year's candidates to follow back up with everyone, including fellow bloggers.

I will most definitely be in attendance if such an event were to occur. I had to step out of NC last year the weekend of the Bash, right in the AMAZING primary battle we were all having, to attend my niece's Communion in NY.
I will not miss this one. Let me know what I can do to help, James.
