Some art

Not sure why I'm all disclosing today, but what the heck. Here's some of the art I make in my very rare spare time. They're gourds.

Wow.

Do you show those anywhere, A?

I had one show a few years back

but then I got addicted to blogging and haven't made enough lately to get a show together. I do a few commissions for friends . . . and make at least one little something for my wife each year. Thanks for asking!

Too cool, A

i love them.

News of the 10th district: See Pat Go Bye Bye,

Different from any gourd art I've seen!

Awesome!

Wondering when you were going to post these again

I finally got to see one in person and let me tell you, the pictures don't do the real ones justice. They are gorgeous. Much more detailed than the pictures can show. I have this really cool gourd that my great grandfather dried and I would love to turn it into something beautiful. He would cut a hole and hange them for the birds to nest in.

Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.

Too True

I finally got to see one in person and let me tell you, the pictures don't do the real ones justice.

They're beautiful.

I participated in my first "Birdfest"

this year. I donated a 2x3 floorcloth I had painted with large magnolias. To my surprise, it was chosen to go into the live auction along with a few dozen other artworks including a Timberlake decoy and I was invited to attend the event. It's a bit of a gala evening in Winston- Salem. It was very exciting. The bidders were quite generous and my piece brought in $400.00 for Habitat. I think the whole event raised $100,000.00.

Each year, works of art for and about the garden including: birdhouses, bat houses, butterfly houses, floor cloths, fountains, garden furniture, paintings, sculpture, birdbaths, stepping stones, wind chimes and jewelry are created and generously donated by artists, young and old, from across the community to BirdFest, HabitatForsyth's annual auction and multi-day sale.

A, your work is beautiful and would be the perfect kind of art for that event next year.
