Some interesting N.C. polls
Submitted by persondem on Wed, 09/26/2012 - 9:12pm
I saw this poll on Yahoo recently ... I am really trying hard not to get my hopes up, but this poll has made it more difficult.
On a broader polling note, the latest series of North Carolina polls concerning the presidential election looks pretty good. The really shocking number comes from the Civitas poll which gives President Obama a 4 point lead. I am glad I didn't have any food in my mouth when I saw that :)
I can't wait for early voting to start. (crosses fingers, knocks wood, looks for 4 leaf clover)

Dear Mr. Blue NC Editor
Thank you for helping out on this thread.
At what point does this guy's thread hijacking become intolerably obnoxious?
I could do something about his on my own I realize, but would like some clarification.

At this point
Although Clarence appears to be very energetic in his political discourse, he has also engaged in one-way-only communication (post & dash), he's ignored requests (and demands) from readers and administrators, and he doesn't seem to care if his comments correlate with the diaries in which they're posted.
It's a damned shame to have to block him, but I see no other course.

awaken the people
Are the people finally awakening to the damage done by corporations from shipping our jobs to low wage countries like China and India? It has hurt state budgets.
It has decimated our local apparel and textile 6000 jobs in 45,000 city.
In the last ten years 2001-2011 We lost 58,000 factories.
Each time a plant closes, it reduces revenue going to the city, state and causes deficits.
The Alliance for American Manufacturing states the U.S. Lost at least $254 Billion in manufacturing wages in the past decade due to the loss of 5.5 million manufacturing jobs. Ending China's currency manipulation would create more than 1 million jobs, Add to economic growth, And reduce the budget deficit by $500 billion over the next six years

Too Big to Close
GlAss Steagll one of worst acts ever of Congress.
Over the past weekend, the agency announced its second enforcement action in conjunction with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), ordering Discover Bank to refund approximately 200 million dollars to more than 3.5 million consumers and pay a 14-million-dollar civil penalty.
At issue were “deceptive telemarketing and sales tactics used by Discover to mislead consumers into paying for various credit card ‘add-on products’ – payment protection, credit score tracking, identity theft protection, and wallet protection,” according to an agency press release.
According to the CFPB, Discover Bank, one of the largest credit card issuers in the U.S., misled customers about whether there was a cost for the products, enrolled customers without their consent, and failed to tell customers about some of the eligibility requirements associated with payment protection benefits.
In a similar case of “deceptive marketing tactics”, on Jul. 18, the agency announced its first enforcement action, requiring Capital One Bank to refund approximately 140 million dollars to two million customers and pay an additional 25-million-dollar civil penalty.
On Aug. 10, the agency proposed two new rules that will protect families who take out mortgages for their homes. These proposed rules are currently subject to a public comment period before final action will be taken.

Clarence is Clarence! That's all.
Clarence is an original and probably has more facts at his fingertips than the Nuisance and Disturber. He is an original and we love him here in Alamance.
