BlueNC Radio premiers tonight
This evening at 6:30, we're planning to experiment with something new. BlueNC Radio. You're welcome to join us.
At first blush, it seems pretty simple. We line up an informed guest, you follow this link and it takes you to the BlueNC BlogTalkRadio page. Then we all have a good conversation. You can listen through your computer, chat, or call in live to talk. If you don't have free long distance on your cell phone, email me or use the BTR chat function.
Whether it is that simple or not, we'll see. I'll be there for sure and I think Steve will be joining me for a discussion of called, "Corporate influence and the progressive agenda." We'll use his Sunday Thinking post as a jumping off point.
Wish us luck ... hope to see you there.
UPDATE: Here's the show.
PS Next week we'll be talking about the state of the campaigns for all three Senate races from the online-activists point-of-view. Then the following week we'll have a special edition called, "I married a political blogger," featuring the fabulous Dr. Jane Delano Brown.

Fair warning
Never having tried this before, I fully expect it to not work smoothly. And while it's tempting to test the idea out of the public view, I always lean in the direction of transparency. We're all in this together, right?
:)
Do good. Be nice. Have fun.
Should be fun
Then again, I thought chaperoning my daughter and her 4th grade classmates to Carowinds would be fun, but by the end of the day, I was in need of intensive therapy. :O
This will be way less fun than that
Heh.
Did you see the topics for the next two editions?
Do good. Be nice. Have fun.
I'm going to try to catch this
Sounds exciting! Good on ya for making this happen =)
I heard a little of this
Maybe 2 minutes of it, but the browser kept loading and the radio kept buffering :-(
Will there be a podcast?
Progressives are the true conservatives.
Rats!
It was a good test run ... definitely enough to convince me to give it a whirl for a few more weeks.
Thanks for trying to get in, loftT. Much appreciated.
Do good. Be nice. Have fun.
I think I missed the party
just got back from eating. But I'll try to tune in next week, any discussion of campaign politics easily entangles me. =)
You did miss it ... and we missed you
See ya next week!
Do good. Be nice. Have fun.
"Scuse me for not being a "talker"
Hope that venue goes well, but I am not much of a talk-show contributor.
I do think that it may be successful, however.
Were you a listener?
Hey Foxy, I would have said you weren't much of a blog contributor six months ago ... and now look at you! Come on in, the water's fine.
:)
Do good. Be nice. Have fun.
True, James
Hope I will not make an idiot out of myself :(.
Talk next Mon....I think.
Very great!
See you then!
Do good. Be nice. Have fun.
For those who missed it
Here's a link, just click play!

I would love to be a contributor...
I love talk radio. I listen to it all day long. WWRL in NY the Errol Louis Show, The Stephanie Miller Show, The Thom Hartmann Show and I will listen to The Ed Shultz show when Thom is out.
Spreading the word is the key. I would say model the show after Thom Hartmamn and you can't go wrong.
Anthony D. Hall,
Fighting for Truth, Justice, Freedom and the American Way!
Nice idea having this 'talk' show available...
I listened to James and Steve talk on the 'corporate influence' issue, which is a real sore spot for our country right now. And the idea that the issue can be discussed more fully, and extensively during this show, is pretty neat. Plus I liked the idea that I heard this whole thing at 6:15am, at a time convenient for me. The audio came across as clear and concise, so keep up the good work, and looking forward to the next topic!
BlueNC Radio, Air America, & WCHL
http://airamerica.com/
Sad to see them go. I also thought, doesn't WCHL broadcast a lot of Air America stuff? And will they have a progressive void to fill?
I just posted this idea on James' & Ron Stutts' facebook walls. I have no idea if this is feasible, but given todays SCOTUS ruling, I think it is a conversation worth having to keep some progressive voices alive in our community.
Maybe we should be called
Radio Free America
Do good. Be nice. Have fun.
Ron said it was an interesting idea
& that he'd get back to me on it.
And I'd love to see this happen. It would you give a larger platform for interviewing people about the 2010 senate campaigns, about the corruption of Art Pope, and continue the presence of a progressive radio voice here in the triangle area.
I hope you two can have a conversation about this soon =)
Darn! I didn't mean to miss it.
Life just happened...next week.
