Southern Pines Pilot recommends Jay Ovittore to voters in NC 06
The editors of The Pilot in Southern Pines has made, in my opinion, the right choice in recommending that Democratic and Unaffiliated voters that vote in the Democratic Primary in NC-06 choose Jay Ovittore as their candidate to face Howard Coble in November, who they believe it will be "hard to dislodge".
The Pilot's assessment of the candidates is as follows:
. . .Johnny J. Carter, a businessman from Summerfield, bases much of his campaign on social issues like returning prayer to the schools. He seems given to overstatement, as when he said the country could easily stop illegal drugs from coming into the country in 30 days.
(Teresa Sue)Bratton displays admirable knowledge of the issues on a wide rang of subjects in a recent debate, though Ovittore seems to have more fire in the belly and a better feel for the role a successful Congress member must play. Between the two, we lean toward Ovittore because of his vigor and enthusiasm.

Congratulations, Jay!
This is the first time I've agreed with The Pilot in quite a while. I believe they have wrongly discounted the Democrats in this race, but this is Moore County, and they're not prepared to be surprised. Howard Coble v. Jay Ovittore. That's a debate I'd like to see.

Congratulations Jay!
This is terrific.
Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.
Good News and Congrats to Jay
for the rec by the Pilot!
This is off topic but did anyone catch the article about Boylan? He again says that the charge that he got all "handsy" with Tricia Cotham was just a big LIE!
No matter that patriotism is too often the refuge of scoundrels. Dissent, rebellion, and all-around hell-raising remain the true duty of patriots.

Excellent news, Jay
I have some friends in Asheboro that are fed up with Howie Coble and I told them to take a look at you. I think the word is getting out and you are obviously impressing the people in your district. Congratulations!
