Many evangelicals have numerous reasons, other than religion, for objecting to Mr. Romney. But to understand just how hard it is for some to coalesce around his candidacy, it is important to understand the gravity of their theological qualms.

But it’s as though we feel we have a broader circle of truth.

Translation: You're not wrong, but we have a "broader circle of truth" than you. So even though you're not wrong, we're more right.

Banks backing Romney?

I wonder how this will go down with all those good Christians with all that money in Bank of America and Wells Fargo. I guess it just goes to show that The Almighty Dollar trumps The Almighty God here in the land of greed.

The country's biggest banks are overwhelmingly supporting Mitt Romney's bid for the Republican presidential nomination, a Charlotte Observer analysis of federal campaign contributions shows.

Employees at the five largest U.S. banks by assets, including Bank of America Corp. and Wells Fargo & Co., gave Romney about $600,000 through the first three quarters of 2011, according to the most recent filings available from the Federal Election Commission.

is positioning himself for a run in 2016. I thought he had some ideas worth exploring. And, I think one has to be pretty smart and dedicated to learn to speak chinese.
