2010 election
Handy polling place locator link:
Submitted by KatyMunger on Mon, 11/01/2010 - 9:33amhey all -- if you are helping to Get Out The Vote and need a handy tool for verifying for people where they should go to vote, here's a nifty search engine that's a lot easier to use than the SBOE one. As a bonus, you can give people directions as well: http://www.democracy-nc.org/wheredoIvote.html
We've also updated our GOTV virtual postcard so you can use it to remind people to vote tomorrow. It includes the above link and some really handy Voter Rights links, etc: http://www.democracy-nc.org/timetovote.html

Voter Rights Hand-Out To Distribute
Submitted by KatyMunger on Fri, 10/29/2010 - 12:37pmPlease help us combat the voter intimidation tactics being used at some NC polling places this year: if you know of anyone working the polls tomorrow or on Tuesday, get them a copy of this Election Protection Hand-Out, which includes the the North Carolina Voter Bill of Rights as well as the truth about several major myths being used to discourage voters this year. And if protecting voter rights is a concern of yours, we invite you to join Democracy NC's mailing list for alerts about Election Protection and other electoral reform issues.
Thanks!

Making Money in Politics a Campaign Issue at Forums:
Submitted by KatyMunger on Fri, 10/22/2010 - 8:42amThere are been some truly scary reports on the money flooding into elections following Citizens United, most disturbing of all the secret donations and secret meetings to take over Congress that are now being reported in the mainstream press. A good summary of them can be found here. If you are concerned about the issue, can you help us make sure candidates are asked questions about their feelings on Voter-Owned Elections or money in politics at any candidate forums or call-in shows between now and the election? We have a list of suggested questions by office level here. Thanks if you can help!

Free GOTV Resources If You Need Them
Submitted by KatyMunger on Fri, 10/22/2010 - 8:33amHope all of you are doing well here on Blue NC. I have been deep in GOTV -- and I work for a nonpartisan group -- so haven't been able to comment on any of the candidate threads but I would like to offer some free GOTV resources to any of you interested.
