AFA Extremist Steps Down
Submitted by TriSeanK on Thu, 03/04/2010 - 11:04amThe President of the American Family Association (nationally) is stepping down due to bad health. The AFA is mostly known for near daily boycotts against anything it believes to be anti-Christian. Boycotts have included Disney, Ford, Pepsi, and T.V. shows of all stripes. AFA is one of Christian Extremist groups that is furthest to the right. They called for gay Republican Congressman Jim Kolbe of AZ to be thrown in jail under sodomy laws in 2000 even though he was married with kids at the time. (More proof the anti-gay right wing doesn't "hate the sin" only, since they had no evidence of gay sex).
Don Wildmon's resignation comes after months of illness following a mosquito bite. A giant of right wing barbarism, taken down by a tiny bug.

Easley uses gay slur to praise Clinton
Submitted by Kosh on Tue, 04/29/2008 - 1:10pmYesterday Mike Easley endorsed Hillary Clinton. No surprise there, since like her, he is a "right of center" Democrat. What did stand out was in the course of his endorsement he decides to praise her while using a gay slur.
...nothing I love more than a strong powerful woman." Easley concluded his remarks saying Clinton -- "makes Rocky Balboa look like a pansy".

Wife of N.C. state senator pens hate-filled op-ed
Submitted by matthillnc on Mon, 03/17/2008 - 4:36pm
CHARLOTTE, N.C./InterstateQ.com -- The wife of a conservative North Carolina state senator sponsoring an anti-gay, anti-family marriage amendment has penned a hate-filled, factually inaccurate opinion piece for the radical Right-wing Christian Action League website.
The piece, written by Mary Frances Forrester, the wife of Sen. James Forrester (R-Gaston County), was published Feb. 29, but it took me quite a bit of time to sift through information on some of the topics she addressed. I was going to make a rebuttal to Mrs. Forrester's op-ed the focus of my next Q-Notes editorial, but repeated attempts to contact Mrs. Forrester failed. Because I could never get in touch with her to get a list of sources she used in constructing her op-ed, I didn't feel comfortable writing on it for the paper.
