Clay Pittman

Thanks, but no thanks

Somewhere along the way, I started receiving press releases by email from the North Carolina Democratic Party. Some of them are routine housekeeping stuff, but often there's great material that should be widely distributed. Today's release covered growing concerns about Governor Pope's emerging culture of corruption.

After getting the email, I wrote to ask Clay Pittman, the party's press secretary, why he didn't just create a BlueNC account and get someone to post the releases directly, thereby avoiding the logistical burden of me having to re-post and front-page what they send. As a person with a real day job, I don't have time to cover half the political stuff that comes to my mail box, so I'm always asking others to help.

I got a quick response from Clay thanking me for the offer, but declining, without explanation.
