Dennis Kucinich

Support single payer: Take action now

By my estimation, the United States Senate, Inc., has already sold out the people of this country by offering up a half-assed public plan that not only fails the fundamental test of covering everyone, it also fails to control costs and doesn't even require participation by providers. It's an anemic version of Medicare - the illusion of a "public option" - which focuses first on preserving profits for the insurance industry. Even worse, it continues to tie a person's ability to get care to being employed, while creating incentives for businesses to dump their coverage, outsource jobs and cut full-time employees to part-time.

The alternative is clear ... and the case is well made in the following letter from Dennis Kucinich.

Presidential Debate Open Thread

Keith O is saying, "It's the stupid economy". The economy has overtaken the war in Iraq as the number one concern of many voters. Who is positioned to capitalize on this shift in the priorities of the American people?

Maybe their answers tonight will clear things up for those who haven't decided.

Which Republican will carry Michigan? Will Kos's endorsement push Romney over the top in the mitten state?

The Difference Between Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich

These two presidential candidates from different parties are compared frequently: both are against needless wars in Iran and Iraq and refuse to fund them, both voted against the PATRIOT Act and continue to oppose it, both are unusual “underdog” candidates with large followings, and both claim they will bring a revolution to America’s government by returning to the values of the Constitution. But Ron Paul is far from “the Republican equivalent of Dennis Kucinich” and not everyone realizes this. In fact, the differences are so huge that it is a wonder they are compared at all.
