CBS Promotes Hate Speech in Charlotte

Woke up this morning but I didn't feel good once I saw the Business section of The Charlotte Observer. Charlotte residents were greeted with the news that the takeover of radio by the purveyors of hate is now complete because CBS Radio is going to turn WBCN-AM into another channel in white boy talk radio. Now we are going to hear from our co-workers radio in the other cubicle such luminaries as Hannity, Beck, and Savage.

Alert from the North Carolina Human Relations Commission

The Community Relations Staff of the North Carolina Human Relations Commissional has noticed that in North Carolina since October 31, 2008, there have been 6 incidents reported to this office, four (4) incidents reported as hate crimes and two (2) incidents reported as hate bias incidents. Out of the six incidents reported, five (5) of the six incidents dealt with vandalism of Obama signs or derogatory public statements about him becoming the President-Elect.

Obama is EVIL! - Joke

Reverend Jeremiah Wright said some horrible things about America. He is evil. Forget about the good he has done in his life. He is evil. I saw it on CNN.

A great way to fight hate speech

My good friend Mark Kleinschmidt is an anti-death penalty attorney and a twice-elected member of the Chapel Hill Town Council. He is also gay. This last fact qualified him for membership on a list that is making the rounds on hate sites called the "National List Of Openly-Homosexual Public Officials."

Hands off

Dear Democratic Legislators in the NC General Assembly:

I am writing you today in response to a story I read in the Charlotte Observer. Thank you for taking time to hear my concerns.

Rep. Linda Johnson, a Kannapolis Republican, plans to force a vote Tuesday on a proposal to ban same-sex marriage in the N.C. Constitution. Johnson and Rep. Tim Moore, R-Cleveland, are sponsors of the state Marriage Protection Amendment introduced earlier this year.

This sad story has been written about extensively, and you've probably already been contacted by supporters of Equality NC and others who have been mobilized by one of our state's leading progressive bloggers. As a straight, middle-class white business guy, I want to add my words of advice as well:

Don't. You. Dare.

If you've bothered to read the Constitution of the State of North Carolina, which you are sworn to uphold, you will find no section in that document that is written to restrict the rights and liberties of We the People. On the contrary, the preamble is a proud and honorable celebration of freedom. Among its 36 sections, I call your attention to these:

Section 1. The equality and rights of persons.

We hold it to be self-evident that all persons are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, the enjoyment of the fruits of their own labor, and the pursuit of happiness.

When I heard the news, my head exploded with strip ideas. I couldn't decide which to do so I put them in a short series.

One of the most hateful men in America is now dead. What are politicians saying?

Dr. Falwell was a man of distinguished accomplishment who devoted his life to serving his faith and country." Sen. John McCain

How did he serve? Teaching hate and intolerance to Americans under the guise of "religion."

"An American who built and led a movement based on strong principles and strong faith has left us." Mitt Romney

We all have great respect for him." Rudy Giuliani.

Uh, Rudy, some of us don't. Do you also respect Pol Pot? David Duke? Fred Phelps maybe?

Falwell will only be missed by the worst of us and you must be one of them.

To see the all four strips in the series hit the flip.
