Why didn't anybody else?

Parker to continue as NCDP Chairman

Apparently it's crazier than it seems:

The 742-member N.C. Democratic State Executive Committee meeting in Greensboro voted to retain David Parker as chairman. He had turned his resignation in earlier in the day but agreed to stay on after the vote.

Can somebody help me with a little math here? I know I went to a county school and all that, and studied some fairly obscure dead civilizations as a History major, but...if you subtract the 269 pro-Parker votes from the 742 SEC members, that leaves 473 votes. Subtract the 203 hasta la vista, baby votes cast from the remaining total, and you still have 270 outstanding votes not cast. Did I miss something? I mean, other than the passengers not giving a shit who's driving the bus.

Groundswell of Support for David Parker

The News & Observer reports a groundswell of support for keeping David Parker as Chair of the NCDP. The N&O report is timely for we can see from the Bluenc online poll that support for Parker’s three announced opponents (Baldwin, Eaton and Vaughan) is tepid at best.

Leading the charge for the retention of David Parker, Bill Franklin is a retired Colonel in the US Army and a longstanding member of the Alamance Democratic Executive Committee and the State Executive Committee (SEC).

In an email blast to the SEC, Franklin argued that concerted efforts to remove Parker amount to an orchestrated plot to sabotage Parker’s reforms at the NCDP that empowered the grassroots.

In his now classic missive, Franklin identified Elaine Marshall as the ringleader of the hostile takeover of the NCDP.

Article on Parmley's resignation

Two questions: How much was the settlement and why wasn't it reported on campaign finance reports?

The executive director of the N.C. Democratic Party resigned Sunday as calls for his ouster mounted amid questions regarding a secret agreement to pay a former staffer to keep quiet about sexual harassment allegations.

David Parker still refusing to comment on NCDP scandal

Top Dems mum on scandal at NCDP headquarters.

Actually only Chairman David Parker is quoted, and his is a "no comment." Others not named are said to want the issue addressed.

I want it addressed, too. I am wondering just how high up the Democratic Party food chain this reaches. Where did the "hush money" come from? NCDP or DNC? Hard to know when Parker stays mum.
