Styrofoam for brains

Congressional Republicans this week said "no" to green and "yes" to white as they reinstated the use of Styrofoam cups in the Capitol cafeteria.

Republicans Intervene In Traffic Accident, Call Settlement “Shakedown”

Brighton, Colorado (FNS)—Attorneys from the Republican Study Group (RSG) descended upon the 17th Judicial District courtroom of Judge John T Bryan today to present an amicus brief and associated oral arguments in order to prevent a settlement in a lawsuit related to an automobile accident in this Colorado city.

The intervening attorneys claim the settlement reached between the two parties to the accident is a “shakedown” because the plaintiff had not yet exhausted all possible legal remedies when the agreement was finalized, and because the agreement was executed in the presence of the plaintiff’s brother, a well-known local attorney.

They hope Judge Bryan will decline to approve the settlement in today’s hearing, and that he will order the parties to move forward to trial.

“What we have is government transferring property from one party, an admittedly unattractive one, to others, not based on preexisting laws but on decisions by one man, a car czar”, said Crush Mimbaugh, attorney for the RSG, “and we are here today to protect all Americans from this legally sanctioned rape of an innocent driver.”

Minority Leader John Boehner Loses His Sanity in Front of Cameras

We've gloated a bit about the implosion of the Republican party, but watching a grown man lose his sanity in front of television cameras uncomfortable to watch. CSpan has the entire 13 minute press conference where Boehner raises his voice and then proceeds to insult the personal appearances of several reporters in the group. The following is the video of Boehner slurring his speech and raising his voice.

We have another bill coming through here, two bills that seek to try to put the federal government in charge of deciding what salaries of employees ought to be.

Republican Budgetary B.S.

So I am sitting here watching C-SPAN and they have the House Minority Leader's Weekly Briefing showing with Minority Leader, Senator John Boehner (R-OH).

He's complaining about Democrats raising taxes. He says that we can balance the budget without raising taxes. He says that the taxpayers deserve to keep their "hard-earned money." He says that the taxpayers deserve "transparency" in how their money is spent and they deserve to know that their money is being used responsibly.
