Damn this guy really pisses me off.

Energy costs have risen sharply in recent years, fueled by everything from rogue foreign governments to too many people in the United States government lining their own pockets. Few people recognize that we're an oil producing nation, and this past year we've set new records in oil and gas production—but I believe more must be done. For every step we take in the right direction, it seems that failed policies and political games take us three steps back. I want to take this opportunity to lay out some aspects of a comprehensive Energy plan that I support and believe will show positive results immediately—lowering costs, creating jobs and giving working families and small businesses the only thing they really want from government: a fair shot.

Keystone XL will create American jobs

Cement Sector Regulatory Relief Act of 2011

Once again I have that "where was I and was I asleep or what?"
This POS bill passed Oct.6 2011. Kissell is listed as one of the cosponsors.
What is wrong with these reps? Are they retarded or corrupted?
Most of these pinheads would outlaw abortion but apparently don't give a damn about mercury and birth defects.

The tags should be 'completely frustrated, can't take it anymore and goin' nuts'...

Do we support Kissell? Best chance of GOP Pick Up in NC (by only 1% of the vote)

His actions on HCR certainly bring up this question. But he does have some good to his name too.

Rep. Kissell voted in favor of DADT repeal, & voted for the Matthew Shepard Act. He voted against the Stupak Amendment which aimed to reduce abortion access, he voted against the Mack amendment which would have hurt workers wages on federally funded construction projects, he voted for HR 35 to strengthen executive public record release, he voted for shareholder approval on executive compensation packages, he voted for Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009, he cosponsored the Clean Water Protection Act, he voted for the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, and he voted for the Holt Amendment which helps monitor the treatment of those we interrogate.

D'Annunzio V. Republican Party V. Kissell

Earlier on DailyKos, Bernardpliers wrote a diary about the R party and how they are trying to kill the D'Annunzio campaign in NC 8th District. This is the district currently held by Larry (the back stabber) Kissell. What is so unusual is that they are digging up dirt on D'Annunzio and flinging it as hard and fast as possible.

In another post at DK, Barbara Morrill has picked up the story and is running it on the front page. In her take, she endorses the scenario that the Republican party is trying to keep out another Rand Paul!

Got your popcorn yet kids?

I'm voting for Nancy if Kissell doesn't support Health Care Reform

I am calling Congressman Kissell's office tomorrow and telling him that if he does not vote to support Health Care reform, my vote in the Primary is going to his opponent Nancy Shakir. These are my reasons why. First if health care reform fails, the Republicans will take over both the House and Senate after this year's election because the Democratic base will be thoroughly demoralized and will not turn-out. Kissell will be a second term back-bencher with no influence if he wins and if the Republican candidate wins he will just be another rabid radical conservative among many. If the Democrats hold the house and Kissell wins great. Iff he does not, well the Republican winner will be a first term Congressman from the minority party, capable of embarrassing us, but not much else.

The bottom line is, the only chance we have of holding onto the House is to pass health care reform. Call your Democratic Congressman and tell them to vote for the Senate bill

Larry Taking Some Heat

Here it is.
I just don't buy the Medicare excuse.

Kissell and Etheridge and McIntyre, oh, my!!!

In case you haven't heard, these are Congressfolk from NC who DON'T SUPPORT HEALTHCARE REFORM. If you are from these districts, please let them know that they must stand with Democrats on reform NOW, we will not have this chance again for another generation. What is the alternative? Do nothing and have the system collapse? Vote with Republicans and make things worse for more people?

Larry Kissell - It's Time to Get On Board The House Healthcare Train

It is time, Congressman Kissell. The train is leaving the station. Will you be for helping ordinary North Carolinians avoid the comming healthcare catastrophe or will you be with the naysayers who claim we have the "best healthcare in the world".

You might be afraid of the coming ads from the GOP, savaging you for voting of Obama's healthcare bill. Not to worry. The public option for healthcare is supported by over two-thirds of Americans.

You might be afraid of the astroturf phone calling that your office has been getting from healthcare industry boilerrooms. Make no mistake. The people who are asking you to support the House Tri-Committee bill are more likely to vote that folks who are hired by the hours to pretend to be citizens.

Kissell wants to make teacher tax credit permanent

U.S. Rep. Larry Kissell (D-NC) wants to continue the tax deduction the IRS allows educators to take for certain “out of pocket” classroom expenses. Kissell has introduced legislation in the House that would extend the educator tax deduction through 2011. Currently, elementary and secondary teachers can deduct up to $250 on their income taxes for certain classroom expenses they purchase using their own money.

Studies show that teachers are spending more of their own funds each year to supply their classrooms and purchase essential items such as pencils, glue, scissors and facial tissues. According to the National School Supply and Equipment Association, educators’ out of pocket expenses for the 2005-2006 school year, on average, totaled nearly $2000--$826 for classroom supplies and $926 for instructional materials.
