Incoming freshman legislators of all parties stunned their leadership by unanimously petitioning for revisions in the federal employee’s pension system as applied to members of Congress. Rand Paul, Senator-elect from Kentucky, said “if we’re going to look at raising the retirement age for Social Security and reducing benefits, Congress needs to share in that pain.”

Call Larry Kissel (or whomever you congressperson is) and tell him that limiting regulation of local radio is not the same as supporting the expansion of Low Power FM in Charlotte.

I got my second glossy colored 8.5x11 mailer this week from the Home Ticks Johnston County Property Owners Against Transfer Taxes. It says,

Johnston County doesn't have a revenue problem -- it has a spending problem.

"Hmmm", I thought. No time to waste!
