Submitted by cstalberg on Fri, 10/23/2009 - 7:11am"Anyone interested in the problem with Blackwater, and particularly those of you who are interested in the underlying ethical issues should view the talks at this conference hosted by the Stockdale Center for Ethical Leadership, United States Naval Academy -- I think we can agree not the bastion of liberal wackos. Finally, we see our military establishment starting to think about this! (Talk by Erik Prince was redacted.)" - Ray Lutz

report from Stop Blackwater conference in Stockton, IL
Submitted by cstalberg on Sat, 04/25/2009 - 7:36pmApril 24, 2009
There are about 50 people here tonight, many Midwestern states are represented. We’re at a universalist church in Stockton, IL. A small town situated in rolling farm country about 3 hours west of Chicago.. The woman minister tells us that not everyone in their community ws sympathetic to their hosting the stop blackwater conference. She says they are taking a risk. We express our gratitude.
There are many stories and reminiscenses of actions flying around. Dave tells about his stepping onto the property where the US military drones are controlled using satellite communications. He says the people flying the drones in Pakistan are sitting at computer keyboards in the Nevada desert. The drones have video cameras powerful enough the operators can see the faces of their victims and their body parts flying once the missle strikes its target.

NC-based Blackwater investigated for illegal weapons shipments
Submitted by Mr._WD on Sat, 09/22/2007 - 5:33pmThe Moyock-based mercenary firm Blackwater USA has had a bad week. First, its employees shot into a crowd of Iraqis on Sunday, killing at least 11 people. A preliminary report by the Iraqi government states that "the murder of citizens in cold blood in the Nisour area by Blackwater is considered a terrorist action against civilians just like any other terrorist operations."
Now Blackwater is being investigated for shipping illegal weapons into Iraq. Today the News and Observer reported that
Two former Blackwater employees have pleaded guilty in Greenville to weapons charges and are cooperating with federal officials investigating Blackwater, based in the tiny town of Moyock in North Carolina's northeastern corner.

As you may know, North Carolina is not only a military-friendly state, we are a mercenary-friendly state, too. Indeed, the world's largest mercenary army of war-profiteers his headquartered right here in Mayberry-land: Blackwater, USA.
