Why Mike McIntyre will never get one red cent from me
Submitted by James on Tue, 12/27/2011 - 11:28amOver 200 years ago, when the first Continental Congress met amidst escalating tensions with the British, they turned to God for wisdom to help chart a course for the future of our great nation.
And god told them to start a damn war? Heaven help us.

Submitted by James on Wed, 11/30/2011 - 2:39pmVia email.
Dear Supporter,
Year's end is fast approaching and our race is garnering national attention. Now, more than ever, we need your help to keep our community together!
Please help us fight FOR our communities in southeastern North Carolina and fight AGAINST the unfair redistricting plan. Your contribution of $25, $50, $100 or more WILL make a difference in our efforts! EVERY dollar counts, is needed, and isappreciated!
You CAN make a difference!
Thank you, and may God bless you and your family during the holiday season!
Sincerely,
signature
Mike McIntyre
P.S. Please contribute as soon as possible to help us reach our goal before December 31st. Thank you!

McIntyre's email today regarding the tax cut capitulation, er, compromise
Submitted by Stan on Tue, 12/07/2010 - 6:06amDear Friends,
During this time of economic challenges, it is important that Congress not adjourn until two important issues have been finalized. First, we need to extend the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts so that there are no tax increases on employers who provide much needed jobs and that there are tax breaks for middle and working class families who need the help and the jobs. Second, unemployment benefits for those that are out of work need to be extended. I urge the Administration and Congressional Leadership to keep working and find an agreement that will keep Southeastern North Carolina and the United States moving forward.
Mike Mcintyre
He absolutely knows the $250K and above tax increase has practically zero to do with "employers" and he also fails to mention that the rich already are getting a great tax cut on dividends/capital gains.
Smoke and mirrors.

On matters involving Pantano
Submitted by wendyb on Mon, 10/11/2010 - 12:04pmFrom the Pantano for Congress website:
..."McIntyre’s liberal friends at the North Carolina Democratic Party have chosen to fund and operate a renegade “illegal” website, FactsaboutPantano.com, to further defame Pantano and even to attack Pantano’s wife. The website does not have the necessary disclaimer required by Federal Election Law to show that it is paid for and authorized by the North Carolina Democratic Party. That’s because they don’t want to be tied to baseless accusations and distortions found on the site. However, a quick search of the “WhoIs” online directory reveals that the site is registered to the North Carolina Democratic Party and Andrew Whalen, the Party’s Executive Director. Whalen is not unknown to McIntyre after serving as a long time staffer for McIntyre’s closest congressional partner and ally, Heath Shuler."

The weird world of Will Breazeale
Submitted by James on Wed, 02/24/2010 - 9:16amIt's hard to know what to make of a man who hates government as much as Will Breazeale, especially since he has spent so much of his career drawing a government paycheck. But that's another story.
What's weirder still is Breazeale's relationship with his own integrity. Though he promises he would serve only six years in Congress if elected, he can't simply stand on the strength of his word. He's joined up with the Teabaggers at Americans for the Prosperous by signing a pledge that when he does break his word, he can stay in Congress for the chump-change price of $250,000. Chris Fitzsimon at NC Policy Watch dissects the irony.

"The Family" and Stupak, Pitts, Heath Shuler and Mike McIntyre: Must-listen interview
Submitted by Mojo Mom on Fri, 11/27/2009 - 2:40pmThe Family is one of the most frightening political organizations I have heard of. It grew out of 1930's roots of union-busting and a desire to foster "Totalitarianism for Christ" after the predicted fall of Democracy.
Today the group is on the forefront of the conservative side of "the culture wars"--anti-gay rights, anti-reproductive rights. It operates on a basis of leaders chosen by God doing whatever they think is best, on a national and global level. This includes support to dictators (as long as they are so-called "key men" chosen by God). The Family is currently connected "to proposed anti-gay legislation in Uganda that could sentence, quote, repeat offenders to the death penalty."
If you've heard about The Family, you've probably heard that recently scandalized Republicans like Mark Sanford and John Ensign are involved. Now the names like Congressmen Bart Stupak and Joe Pitts have fresh recognition since they authored the strong anti-abortion amendment to the House's health care reform bill.
It was also distressing news to me Democrats including North Carolina's own Congressmen Heath Shuler and Mike McIntryre are involved with The Family. This week's new Fresh Air with Terry Gross interview with investigative journalist Jeff Sharlet is a must-listen refresher course shining light on this secretive organization.

Blue Dog Daze
Submitted by Stan on Tue, 09/22/2009 - 8:43pmOne of the best articles I've read on Blue Dogs appeared recently in The Nation. Here's a couple brief excerpts:
The Blue Dogs come largely from rural and Southern districts, and often campaign by distancing themselves from the national party. Their support comes from voters who are conservative on social issues like guns and abortion. But on bread-and-butter concerns, these legislators are voting with their contributors, not their constituents.

RNC runs Radio Ads in NC on Health Care; target McIntyre - Kissell - Schuler
Submitted by funluvn on Tue, 08/04/2009 - 9:21amThe RNC is going full steam ahead, hoping beyond hope that their misinformation and outright lies regarding the not-even-yet-fully-proposed healthcare plan from Congress will reach moderate voters in rural North Carolina districts and sway them over to once again voting against their own interests. The culture of fear and smear that the Republican party has created is seemingly becoming less and less persuasive to the voting public, yet being the Party of No ideas or morals, it's all they've got.

McIntyre & Shuler Won't Support Public Health Plan that provides funding for abortions
Submitted by Betsy Muse on Tue, 07/07/2009 - 10:54amThe following letter was sent to Nancy Pelosi by 19 conservative Democrats. North Carolina's Heath Shuler and Mike McIntyre were among those who signed the letter.
June 25, 2009Dear Honorable Pelosi:
As the debate on health care reform continues and legislation is produced, it is imperative that the issue of abortion not be overlooked. Plans to mandate coverage for abortions, either directly or indirectly is unacceptable.
We believe in a culture that supports and respects the right to life and is dedicated to the protection and preservation of families. Therefore, we cannot support any health care reform proposal unless it explicitly excludes abortion from the scope of any government-defined or subsidized health insurance plan. We believe that a government-defined or subsidized health insurance plan, should not be used to fund abortion.

Urge Reps to vote for clean energy jobs this week
Submitted by alina_CCNC on Tue, 06/23/2009 - 3:05pmJobs were cut in all but two sectors of North Carolina’s economy last month, causing the unemployment rate to jump to an all-time high of 11.1%, according to May numbers released by the state Employment Security Commission. It was reported that 508,834 people were seeking jobs in our state last month.
Another jobs report was released last week by the Pew Center on the States that provides a realistic solution for our ongoing unemployment woes, showing that North Carolina is poised to capitalize on the emerging clean energy economy. The report lists North Carolina as among the top dozen states in growing “clean energy economy jobs.” North Carolina clean energy jobs grew two times faster than overall jobs between 1998 and 2007.
The report clearly indicates that North Carolina's struggling economy would receive a massive boost from the comprehensive clean energy bill that the U.S. House of Representatives is expected to vote on later this week, on either Friday or Saturday.
