Why are Obama supporters liking Mitt Romney's Facebook page?

The Boston Globe highlights a troubling trend, where unwitting Facebook users are being signed up for Mitt Romney's Facebook page without their knowledge or permission:

WASHINGTON -- Visit Mitt Romney’s page on Facebook and you’ll see 11.6 million “likes.” Lee Wolf, a self-described liberal who likes nothing about Romney’s politics, was stunned to hear from friends on the online social network that his name had popped up as an apparent supporter of the Republican presidential candidate.

“I don’t believe in anything he says. He’s not somebody I’d be voting for,” said Wolf, who owns the Lobster Shanty, a restaurant in downtown Salem. “I’m still wondering how it happened.”

Others are wondering, too.

Marriage on the ballot on both coasts and places in between

Several states have marriage on the ballot, several of these races are close, and it may be our first victory with marriage at the ballot box (not that civil rights should be voted on). The President has come out on the side of equality in each of these states, and Romney is supporting a federal marriage discrimination amendment. It's hard to imagine a starker difference.

Small Business lies...and more.

I spent some time looking over the most recent census data and the IRS data on who pays taxes and how much. It's difficult to take sets of big numbers and come up with something reasonably accurate. And, I'm well aware of the story about the guy that drowned in a lake that averaged 18 inches deep. But, here I go...

Now is the time to talk to your republican friends and family and tell them you hope that if they get what they want...

You hope they get it good and hard! And, you know what, if Romney is elected, they will get it good and hard because of the funding cuts for Medicare and Medicaid. Somewhere in their families there is a disabled child receiving SSDI, or a parent or grandparent in a nursing home paid for by Medicaid...and a lot of that will GO AWAY.

Did Mitt Romney hack my Facebook account?

As an Obama supporter, I was surprised to discover last week that someone or something had signed me up as a fan of Mitt Romney's Facebook page. Stranger still was that Facebook has no record of this happening. Suddenly I was a fan of Romney's page. It was like magic.

Romney's unusual rise in social media counts has already raised questions that the campaign (or someone acting on its behalf) is padding the campaign's follower account with fake, purchased accounts.

My experience, and that of other victims of this "profile slamming," is a bit more sobering than that. I'm a real person and many of my Facebook friends pay attention to the things I like. A Facebook "like" for a politician is the 21st equivalent of putting a political sign in my yard.

Why Romney is skipping Morrisville: MT @GingerGibson: Romney & Ryan to hold a "homecoming" rally in Wisconsin on Sunday evening #ncpol

I can't help but think the Move-on.org and Progress NC demonstrators the Republican candidates would have faced didn't provide as friendly as photo op as the Rs can arrange in Wisconsin.

With friends like these

Have you heard Mitt Romney’s friends are in our state this weekend? They’re here for the North Carolina Republican Convention in Greensboro. Tim Pawlenty, Rick Perry and even the Donald (as in Trump) will be there to make their case for the Republican ticket.

And with friends like these, its no wonder Mitt’s not here too.

Welcome to Greensboro fellas ... and now a message from your leader.

Enjoy the show and don’t forget that Etch-A-Sketch.

One racist nation, completely divisible, with liberty and justice for rich people

America's poor whites would rather vote for a greedy capitalist predator who believes in polygamy instead of voting for a black man who kept the country from falling over George Bush's economic cliff. From the Washington Post.

In an election year in which the economy ranks as Americans’ top concern, presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney holds significant advantages over President Obama among white voters who are struggling financially and buffeted by job loss, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

Bill Maher calls Romney a rapper!

Seems like Mitt Romney is out of touch with the rest of America. His money flaunting habits and greedy persona doesn't resonate with the people of this country. Unlike other famous entrepreneurs such as Walt Disney and Steve Jobs, Romney is missing that humble side that Americans seem to connect to and love. So do we dislike Romney because his money? No, but we dislike him because of his attitude on becoming wealthy. Bill Maher, in a rather funny sound bite, sheds light on Romney's money loving persona and even compares him to the in-your-face artists of hip-hop. Take a look.
