Carter vs. Foxx in NC-05: Closest Race in the State!
Submitted by Frank Eaton on Fri, 09/05/2008 - 8:34amFinally, some data to back up all the arm-waving, coat tugging and jumping up and down that we in the Carter campaign have been doing since the primary! Brother Tom Jensen from the PPP interprets this weeks' Democracy Corps poll:
The closest Congressional district in the state is the 5th, where Virginia Foxx leads Roy Carter 48-46. I really hope the DCCC and other folks take the pick up opportunity in this district seriously. There are races on the Red to Blue list that based on the data I've seen are less winnable than this one.

More Better Democrats before June 30th
Submitted by Oliver Queen on Sun, 06/29/2008 - 3:34pm
We have a myriad opportunities for change this year. We can put Larry Kissell over the top, and I'm sure we can find a Democratic upset out there, somewhere. Our goal should be to make the North Carolina Republican Congressional Delegation the easiest to remember in the South - because there will only be 4 Congressmen and 1 Senator after this year.
So why not help out and see if we can get over 100 by the fundraising deadline? If you gave your 10 for Jim, maybe you can give 20 to Hagan. Or do what RobertP does, and cut out that pizza dinner this week. But whatever you do, lets give the media a story they can't ignore - well-funded Democrats prepared for victory in November.

Roy Carter at Canyons
Submitted by tsitfel on Wed, 06/18/2008 - 2:30pmCanyons restaurant in Blowing Rock stands perched among the Blue Ridge Mountains, surrounded by North Carolina’s beautiful Globe Forest. Other than delicious quesadillas and breathtaking views, yesterday Canyons played host to a meeting of the conservation group WildSouth for a discussion of the dangers facing the mountain environment. For years, the trees of Pisgah National Forest have been left untouched, but recently, this status has become jeopardized.
