REMINDER: NATIONWIDE NDAA PROTESTS TOMORROW (Friday 3 Feb 2012):

Of all the people I regret supporting in recent years, Kay Hagan tops the list. In an interview yesterday with Mark Binker on her efforts to destroy the internet, the Senator revealed the full extent of her corporatist agenda.

Hagan: Now that a lot of these industries have said, "Whoa, we don’t like this bill," we certainly need to look at that and address those issues.

Riiiiiight.

The truth is, our Senator couldn't care less about the millions of individual citizens who have been saying the same goddamn thing. In Kay's world, it really is just about "a lot of these industries."

1. Emails about topics like Occupy Wall Street, 9/11, the USA Patriot Act, Citizens United v. FEC, AT&T Mobility v. Concepcion, the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 (NDAA), the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA), the Protect IP Act (PIPA) and the Enemy Expatriation Act (EEA) are being blocked by Network Solutions, Verizon and other ISPs using Barracuda, Cloudmark Authority and other Internet censorship systems euphemistically referred to as "spam filters". The 99% can use the same weapon against the 1%: Whenever you receive emails from corrupt corporations - such as those listed at http://contractormisconduct.org - flag them as spam and report them to your ISP.

Waiting on Kay.

Being a pro-business Democrat is a good thing; being a corporate-owned Democrat, less so. Working with leadership to better serve North Carolina is a good thing; responding "how high?" when party bosses and well-paid alums tell you to jump, less so.

This is a heads-up reminder that NDAA 2012, SOPA, PIPA, EEA and the accelerated approval of the Keystone XL Pipeline were all thrown at us AFTER 17 September 2011, i.e. "Day One" of Occupy Wall Street and the global Occupy movement. We must reject or reverse all of these or we lose. But even if we undo NDAA, stop SOPA, prevent PIPA, eliminate EEA and outlaw the Keystone XL Pipeline, that doesn't mean we win. It simply means we'd be right back where we started on 9/17, facing all the same injustices that inspired us to rise up against the corporate fascist elite kleptocracy that has taken over the United States government and through it much of the rest of the world. In other words...
