Tom Fetzer
WakeMed v. UNC
Submitted by James on Wed, 12/14/2011 - 11:15amOne has to wonder what Mr. Fetzer stands to gain if WakeMed succeeds in acquiring a monopoly position in Wake County. Another great example of free market Tea Party bullsh*t flowing down hill to help slime the huddled masses.

Fetzer exits stage in style
Submitted by scharrison on Tue, 01/18/2011 - 5:23pmThe style of an 84 IQ, 17 year-old 8th Grader, that is:
“If I could give you one piece of advice, please ignore the idiot bloggers,” Fetzer said. “I don't know those these people are and why they have time to do this stuff. But they need to get a life.” That brought cheers from the members of the state GOP Executive Committee.
"I spent $20,000 defending my name in a lawsuit.”
And we're the ones who are supposed to be idiots? You'd have been better off setting that $20,000 aside for future psychotherapy sessions for the wife & kid...

Lobbying - how it gets a bad name
Submitted by BigBlue on Wed, 12/15/2010 - 12:30pmGreg Flynn already provided a wealth of information about the "interesting" financing process with the Bill Graham-Tom Fetzer relationship, property, campaign. So, while Tom Fetzer is out pitching himself as a big time lobbyist now that the Republicans control the NCGA, here is some additional information -

Robin Hayes "running hard" for GOP Chairman
Submitted by scharrison on Wed, 12/01/2010 - 7:56amWhen he's not busy shooting innocent ducks, that is:
“I am running hard,” Hayes told staff writer Barbara Barrett on Tuesday. Hayes said that along with visiting grandchildren and spending time hunting and fishing, he’s been working recently on a campaign to replace Tom Fetzer, the outgoing state GOP chairman, who has said he plans to resign in January.
“I can help people stay focused on the goal, encourage them, help them make fund-raising calls,” he said. “I’ve enjoyed almost 20 years in office.”
I'm sure you did. It would almost be worth him winning just to have such odd statements to quote...

Fetzer out, zombie Robin Hayes lurches into picture
Submitted by scharrison on Sun, 11/21/2010 - 2:35pmNot-gay GOP Chairman sez family comes first:
"This is an entirely personal decision on my part," Fetzer said. "As a new husband and new father, I have other priorities now, which I need to tend to. As I told the [Republican] Executive Committee, I lived the first 54 years of my life for me, and now I'm living it for someone else."
Fetzer told The Associated Press that former U.S. Rep. Robin Hayes has indicated that he would seek the chairman's job. Hayes lost his seat in 2008 to Democrat Larry Kissell.
The opening bout will pit Robin Hayes vs Chad Adams, with the headliner being Tom Fetzer vs Pat McCrory. During the intermission, security breaks up a scuffle between Art Pope and Robert Morgan. Hot dogs are 2 for $3.00 while they last.

Martinez strokes Fetzer
Submitted by scharrison on Mon, 11/08/2010 - 11:06amRicky, why don't you two just get a room.
As GOP chair, he's built a considerable network that could come in handy if he wants to run for statewide office - governor, for example. Former Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory acts like he wants another run at the mansion, but against Fetzer the coveted conservative mantle a GOP nominee must wear would go to the former Raleigh mayor.

As NC suffers economically, Fetzer outsources
Submitted by scharrison on Sun, 10/31/2010 - 3:53pmFor all of you loyal Republican donors, here's where most of your money is being spent:
AMA Group, Alexandria, VA = $1,082,021
Battleground Group, Sarasota, FL = $557,144
Think Printing, Richmond, VA = $430,574
Innovative Advertising, Covington, LA = $91,592
3 (other) Alexandria, VA companies = $167,163
Washington Political Gp., Sugar Hill, GA = $37,008
If that's Tom Fetzer's idea of "boosting" North Carolina's economy and job situation, I'd hate to see what he would do if he stopped being concerned...

GOP accused of running illegal ads
Submitted by scharrison on Sun, 10/31/2010 - 12:21pmMaking fraudulent claims about who's picking up the tab:
The latest financial disclosures show that the North Carolina Republican Party has purchased at least $1 million in television air time, including $19, 138 for Goolsby and $37,255 for Rabon, through the media buying firm American Media & Advocacy. However, the ads being run do not bear a “Paid for by the North Carolina Republican Party” disclaimer, instead they claim to be paid for by the candidate, violating election law and subjecting the GOP possible criminal charges.
Whatever the outcome of Tuesday's election, this is one issue that shouldn't be dropped. Fetzer's been whining to the authorities about other people since day one, and it's time they took a look at him, too.

Republican hypocrisy re voting machines
Submitted by scharrison on Fri, 10/29/2010 - 4:14pmCompulsively litigious not-gay Republican leader suddenly allergic to electronics:
"We cannot have an election where voters in counties where the machines are used have less confidence that their votes are being accurately counted than in counties where optical scan ballots are used," Fetzer said. "It's an incompetent situation at the State Board of Elections. We believe that they knew of problems with the calibration of these machines up to two months ago."
And you dipshits were aware of potential programming issues years ago, and went to great lengths demonstrating that "glitches" had absolutely no impact on race results, and folks who wanted optical scan/paper verification were to be ridiculed by the puppet-in-charge:
