I see that SD cant be bothered to start one of these unless her team is playing.

Three games so far, three upsets
Story time:
My introduction to ACC basketball was in middle school. I had been around Villanova basketball, and Alabama/Auburn/TN, so I knew what college sports could be.
Then on a friday afternoon, my math teacher turned the tv on, and let us watch Wake Forest play State. It was at that moment that I knew I was around something new and amazing.
So far tonight
I have seen State upset Duke. Found out the Firefighters union is having a bipartisan forum and wont be inviting 9-11 "hero" Rudy. And, found out Newt is a giant (not commenting on his girth) hypocrite (as if i didnt know already).
I may stop smiling next week sometime. maybe tuesday.

We listened on the road on the way back from Em's dance class and then watched State win. I never, ever thought I would pull for State so enthusiastically. All I can say is I'm glad we're not playing you next!

I got to have the Steelers win the Super Bowl AND the Tarheels win the National Championship in back to back years. Then, Dems won the House and Senate.

That photo with Sid in blue is pretty dang funny folks. But, it looks sick. That god-awful blue is just god-awful sick! Wolfies are gonna win the ACC, just wait and see! Last night was the first time I've really watched them, boy they're a lot more fun to watch that "Herbie" ball ever was.
i believe in these guys
There is something about Sid that makes me believe we will win, even when we have almost no hope. With Herb you could predict 95% of the games, including in the tourney. It was tough to root for them.

i cant decide
who to root for in the late game. On one hand Wake is the worse team. On the other we beat VTech twice during the season. But its tough to beat someone three times. But does it matter who we play?

Once upon a time...
I was at a State-Carolina football game. Carolina was up big early in the second half. They ran a draw play that seemed to have everybody fooled, then out of nowhere came this linebacker - WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK. It was fairly quiet in the stadium because the game was lop-sided at the time, so you could really hear this hit.
There was silence through the entire stadium for a second, then from back up behind us came the classic Southern accented call of..."It. Is. On." Which as y'all know sounded something like
"Eeut. Es. Own."
The state fans went nuts.
State. Carolina.
Nothing could be finer.

I went to a
State v Carolina HOCKEY game. It was intense.
I dont think the rivalry is as personal as Alabama/Auburn, or Michigan/Ohio State but that is because we have more things to do with our time (case of former) and are just nicer people (case of latter). But, it is still a little insane. My stomach is full of butterflies.
