Why do Kay Hagan and Mel Watt support legislation that would harm the open internet?

Not sure about Watt.
Not sure about Watt. For Hagan it seems to be just another example of a "corporations are people" mindset.
They both consistently support policies....
that gives the federal government more and more control over our lives. This does not surprise me.
Are you being purposely dense again?
This topic is about government ceding more control to private businesses to limit the openness of the internet. You should be cheer-leading Hagan. She's working to make sure Big Media can control what you see online.
Big Business or Big Government...
are equal tyrants on us. Don't you agree?
No. I don't agree.
Big business is a unelected tyrant with no underlying foundation tied to democracy. At least with big government there's the illusion of public accountability.

For what it's worth, I plan on going dark for a few days as well. And I hope BlueNC does the same. I've seen several different dates being thrown around. Is there any consensus on timing and duration?

I don't know about the timing
but we'll probably discover it when we go to Google and Google ain't there. That'll be all the impetus I need to shut down for a spell.
I am flat-out fried.
Not sure of timing either, but
Not sure of timing either, but you may want to keep tabs on the
January 24 is the date many initially discussed, but I now see more sites pledging to join reddit's planned January 18 blackout date.
Thanks
The more I think about it the more I think this is as close as we're ever going to get to a general strike, and maybe even more effective in some ways.

Kay Hagan - Again
Dont forget, Hagan is co-chair of the accursed Third Way organization, son of DLC, both sponsored by corporations to keep Dems in control. Ask her why
she has such an affiliation.
