Submitted by momoaizo on Mon, 03/17/2008 - 1:17pm

This upcoming Thursday evening, from 7 to 8 p.m., Teresa Sue Bratton will live-blog here at BlueNC. She will run against Jay Ovittore in the Democratic Primaries and they are both running for the seat that Howard Coble (6th Congressional) currently occupies. Please visit her website and leave questions if you won't be able to attend.
BlueNC is dedicated to making North Carolina a more progressive and prosperous state. If your intention is to disrupt this effort, please find somewhere else to express your opinions.

Can anyone help with the link to her website?
I've done it twice and for some reason it won't link!?!

Thanks for helping to set this up, Mo. And thanks to Ms. Bratton for not only running for office, but also for making time to join us.
Quite a resume. With all due respect to Jay, check her out.
Quite a resume, it will be interesting to see her responses to our questions.

Jesus Swept ticked me off. Too short. I loved the characters and then POOF it was over.

Indeed the resume is impressive...
but she comes up short on everything except healthcare. I wonder how that will play into her campaign.
Care to elaborate?
I find issue pages often don't tell the whole story, but her page seems to be very progressive.

But of course!
You are right. Issues pages usually don't tell the story. But they do show a certain amount of enthusiasm towards one issue or another.
If you look at Bratton's healthcare policy, clearly, she has a lot of experience and passion with reforming that sector. There are ideas and plans and she elaborates on the issues she cares about.
If you look at her Economy and Foreign Policy proposal, they are not doubt liberal policies. But they are cookie cutter. They don't have an ounce of passion or plan behind them. It seems like she just copied and pasted from a progressive, anti-establishment platform.
anti-establishment?

Progressive didn't seem
Progressive didn't seem strong enough.
Anyway, it seems like she's just following the crowd and not bringing anything new to the podium.
will you be joining us thursday evening?

Most definitely!
Most definitely!
I just received a mailing from Teresa Sue Bratton
which surpirsed me, as I don't live in her district. Then again, it probably shouldn't surprise me since I'm sure she will be happy to accept donations from neighboring Congressional districts. I'll check out her website and see what is going on there.
