Todays world is like the difference between takeing a dose of Clonzapam & Prozac twice daily and like they do, putting on a pair of Rose colered sunglasses ,even on a raining day and waiting & praying for it to all go away!

You and I both knew what it meant and how one feels to suddenly be brought out of a daydream with the words "Stand Up,Hook Up, Face the Door"! Maybieeee, you and I could arrange for them to experence that! I got $5 says Chuckie will be fighting tooth & nail to be at the back of the line with Libby Dole! So he can land on something soft when they all FUBAR and make a couple of rolls and turns and cross their control lines up. The only thing is that before this is done, I really think you and I have earned to right to be the Riggers on their chutes!

If Chainsaw Charlie gets his way, We folks here in Robbinsville and the rest of the far west wont be able to breath due to lack of O2 where he has massive clear cuts done so he can plant more of his x-mas trees. I mean, The Logging and Sawmill industry used to be a honorable hardworking industry for western NC. I did a little of it myself to put food on the table but the loggers had more common sense than GW Bush, Daddy Bush or Chuckie Taylor when it came to doing their job. In evedence I offer the fact that Ive been told many times to watch how I fell a tree not to destroy the smaller ones comming on. But now ,thanks to GWB, And his cronnies like Taylor and others all that is left of a proud industry are old buildings, some of which I have photographed just to have something to show the grandkids. Heck in the ports in Alaska you can go at anytime and see timber that has come from the Tongrass NF already debarked and loaded into the pits of cargo ships destened for Japan & China. You can also see the american jobs loaded right along with it!

Stanley Furniture, Who has plants in VA, Lexington,NC and here in Robbinsville was running strong under the Clinton-Gore administration. This was right before my disabilities got me down.I was makeing $11 an hour, Asst. Chief of the Fire Brigade and unlimited overtime to do OSHA inspections each month and weekly preventive maintence. Now, Under Geo W & Cheney ,They have laid off the largest part of 2nd shift that had been there less than 6 months, did the same on days so they could fill the slots with 2nd shift folks and cut back to 4 days a week. Then they took 3 weeks off for the 4th ,this was the first time ever for that!

GeoW loves to do something that utterley drives my Dad up the wall,Ever notice how when he walks out to the cameras he struts with his arms held out like a weight lifter! All you can hear from the ol man is "Struttin ,Lieing, Texas Bastard!" I was suprised to hear one member of his age group ,a loyal conseratave Dem, from the houseing development they livein say this. It was during a nightly meeting of the Local Negihborhood Mens Club and dad had just made that comment when his next door neighbor comes out with ,"Well Hell, Wheres Oswald or James Earl Ray when you REALLY do need them!"" I thought ,Uh-Oh, Where are the hidden CIA mikes & cameras at?

But I do love to just sit and listen at them old guys talk about the old glory days of the Dem party and the steady decline of things ever since Nixon! Sometimes you can pick up on a lot! And these are the guys who fought the likes of Hitler and the Yellow Horde outta North Korea.Now Iran and North Korea think they can tell us what to do and hold us at bay with threats! I have 2 good friends in the IDF I met went I underwent LE training at Flexi-The Fed training center at Glynco,GA. We usually keep in touch by e mail. Last they told me they were with the armored unit on the Gazza Strip. Then my friend Curtis, The Sgt.Maj with the 82nd is now in Afghanland and I got friends in Iraq. I worry about them and I ant too old to admit up to it, Only you Anglico whose boot tracks has crossed with mine can understand that kind of worry and knows from where deep,deep within it comes from. No wonder we both have to take meds.

We are both more alike than even we know or will admit too!!! I guess that is why I am rambleing on tonight. Mabie we need to get a IM program but damn, sometimes you can only talk to someone who has been in those same tracks to make any sense!! But as the rest of the world sees us with our hands tied in Iraq & Afghanland mabie it is time to do something a dumbass Republican once did named Nixon. SOB lied like crazy and esclated the war in da nam,Republic of. But we need to start a drawdown outta Iraq ouietly and for once do something and NOT allow the media in on it! We can send MPs to hold their 9mm to reporters heads till it is over so it dont get out.

Start quietly in the night for several nights and pull out troops out or send them over to Afghanland. That is when we pull a Nixon on the North Koreans and the nuts in Iran! Remember Operation Linebacker? The all out bombing of the North? Well Hell, We have the GPS info on the missle sites in North Korea and the enrichment sites in Iran. We need to take the lead like the IDF did . Pull a Linbacker 2, Pull them good old B-52s to go with the ones that are still active and blow th crap out of those places! And if a few civies are took out in the process just dust off our hands and ask them if they want to doubble the count. As for the first 1000 pounder to be let go ,We can always strap Bush to it and Cheney to another one. I have nothing against anyone obtaining their college degree, I have 2 years me self and if my son dosent join the Army Reserve he is headed that way. But Damn, Cheney, when most people wound up with only 1 deferment during the Nam ,Cheney got 5!!!!!! Oh well, I better shut up before Lance runs me off. Later!

The most intellectually honest case for the war in Iraq was never about Saddam Hussein's alleged stockpiling of weapons of mass destruction. It was the Big Bang Theory.

Not to be confused with theories about the origins of the universe, the Middle East Big Bang idea was simple and seductive. The situation's hopelessness argued for a hard shove from the United States to create a new dynamic. Installing a democratic government in Iraq would force a new dawn. Newly empowered Muslim democrats would reform their societies, negotiate peace with Israel and get on with the business of building prosperous, middle-class societies.

Consider Vice President Cheney's address before the Veterans of Foreign Wars on Aug. 26, 2002, one of the earliest major public arguments the administration made for war.The lead of the news stories was Cheney's claim that there was "no doubt" that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction and was prepared to use them. "The risks of inaction are far greater than the risk of action," Cheney declared.

Cheney [also] said. "Moderates throughout the region would take heart, and our ability to advance the Israeli-Palestinian peace process would be enhanced."

If Israelis and Palestinians were closer to peace, if Iraqi democracy showed signs of stability -- these might justify a war fought in part on the basis of false premises.

But when the Big Bang happened, the wreckage left behind took the form of reduced American influence, American armed forces stretched to their limit and a Middle East more dangerously unstable than it was at the beginning of 2003.

what matters now is how to limit and, if possible, undo some of the damage.

That is what the American debate should be about, but those in charge of Republican campaigns this year have another idea. They have hit upon the brilliant strategy of pushing any serious discussion of the failure of American foreign policy past Election Day. For the next 3 1/2 months, they want the choice before the voters to be binary: staying the course and being "tough," or breaking with President Bush's policy and being "soft." There are just two options on the ballot, they say: firmness or "cut and run."

the burden of proof should not be on those who argue for changing what we're doing. It should be on those who set a failed policy in motion and keep promising, despite the evidence, that it will somehow pay off if only we "stay the course.

It is agreed, the Dems NEED to change the discussions, they NEED to keep the coffins in their ads, they NEED to turn the spotlight back on the GOP led mistake and let THEM do a little 'splainin'.

Former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich says America is in World War III and President Bush should say so. Bush should call a joint session of Congress the first week of September and talk about global military conflicts in much starker terms than have been heard from the president.

He said Bush needs to deliver a speech to Congress and "connect all the dots" for Americans.

He said European leaders and some in the Bush administration who are urging a restrained response from Israel are falling short of what needs to be done "because they haven't crossed the bridge of realizing this is a war."

So if this is WWIII, we need to suspend mid-term elections....right?

There is a political element to his talk of World War III. Gingrich said that public opinion can change "the minute you use the language" of World War III. The message then, he said, is, "OK, if we're in the third world war, which side do you think should win?"

You know, the sheeple will follow if you scare them enough!

Gingrich said he is "very worried" about Republicans facing fall elections and says the party must have the "nerve" to nationalize the elections and make the 2006 campaigns about a liberal Democratic agenda rather than about President Bush's record.

You mean they aren't doing that already?

There's going to be a national conversation in October," Gingrich said of the final sprint to the November election. "The only question is whether it's the Republicans defining it or whether we have some nutty idea that we can run local races, and so the entire definition is on the left."

I believe Gingrich is correct here, the pugs should give up their "nutty ideas" of worrying about local races! hehe

I'm almost afraid of saying this, but this series of books gave me a better picture of our emerging America than real history books did. OK, don't laugh, or if you do, don't tell me...The Fallon Series by Robert Jordan writing as Reagan O'Neal.

It's a mythical family who are in the right place at the right time thru out America's history.

It is, imho, well written and tells our history from the eyes of those who lived it.
